avaldes Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I’m a pretty slow smoker. I don’t care for the hot sensation if I smoke too fast. But I will say that smoking outside in the wind can dramatically shorten times. As can watching an exciting movie! PC/Robusto - 1 hour #2 - 90 min DC - 2:15ish Churchill - Somewhere between DC and #2, but ALWAYS too short 3

I'm newish to cigars, and it feels like if i dont take a puff every 30 seconds, part of the cherry starts dying out. rH 62%, very stable storing conditions. @Chibearsv @Ford2112 @Cigar Surgeon It's probably a combination of less frequent draws, less intense draws and not being focused on the burn. As long as the cigar is producing smoke then it's good to go. 6

As long as you enjoy your smoke makes no difference to me of course. But a cigar should be able to withstand much more than 30 seconds in my experience. 👌😚💨 cheers 1

I can always make my cut bigger if necessary, not smaller. 2

Personally, I don't hold onto the cigar between draws - rather put it in a rest....As long as there is a plume of smoke coming from the cigar it is good to go between draws. 1

Funny I am the exact opposite, I never put the cigar down! I don't know why I just never have! I am sitting in my lounge watching something on TV and I am just so relaxed and in the zone! 1
Earthbuddy Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Depending upon what I’m doing at the time, full relaxed or active relaxing. If full, I usually hold onto the cigar. 1
Blazer Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Super slow! You would need a calendar to time me for a Salomones. 1
BigGuns Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Slow AF compared to most…the HUHC I’m on right now is about to hit the 45-minute mark with a little less than an inch to go. Robusto - 75ish Pyramide - 90ish DC - 120+ 2
HenryMartin Posted February 15 Posted February 15 I feel like Cubans are constructed to burn slower because there is a sweet spot of nuanced flavours when Cubans are smoking barely lit. As if the tighter draw is intended to suffocate the cigar from oxygen, resulting in less smoke. The superior ones tend to cut through the room with its aromatic characteristics despite the less smoke. It may also play a role for a cooler burn. Vintage are especially delicate when it comes to smoking speed so the burn is rather dictated by its age, demanding a certain finesse. I have wondered however, whether ambient humidity play a role as well, since smoking a cigar in the rain is a magic of its own.
BrightonCorgi Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I smoked a Partagas Serie P No. 2 in 75 minutes yesterday. At a casual pace. I can see myself finishing it on an hour even as well.
