Ken Gargett Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago backstreets by Bruce. i have heard this probably well over a thousand times and the opening never fails to send chills up the spine. apparently, when some officials at CBS were worried that there were too many long songs on the album, Bruce thought he could shorten this by cutting out the opening, thinking it mmight be a bit too orchestral in nature. jon Landau, his legendary manager, simply said, do that and i quit. thankfully!! 2
