Creepy U.S. pharma commercials. It disgusts me.

C'mon, how else would we know not to take their product if we are allergic to it?

I’ve thought this for sometime, and will regularly rant about it also. It’s pretty disgusting really. It’s so rampant and no one seems to care how tied up people get in it at a young age, specifically, working class males. A large portion of who will end up betting and losing more than they can afford and then learning the really hard way. Meanwhile advertising is spewed left right and centre and profits are in the stratosphere. Little value to society, ‘from their pockets, to mine.’

And don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy gambling on occasion. And play poker at a home game quite regularly. But not everyone has a sensible ‘stop’ button.

Completely agree about the gambling thing. Young guys I work with are constantly obsessed with their bets and parlays. I think think its preying on the vices and addictions of so many people who's name we'll never know and can ruin lives and families. Now I see why gambling was restricted to special locations for so long. Every damn podcast or YouTube video I watch has a gambling ad.

Personally, I'm pretty damned peeved every time I go to pick up a few groceries for my small family. I absolutely couldn't tell you where my $100 went. To top it off, I'm getting bumped into by people staring at their phone buying groceries for other people (InstaCart, etc).

Same. H A T E the online betting apps, etc. The ads are everywhere.  Up here in Canada lots of hockey players are shilling for this greasy crap. Connor McDavid, Wayne Gretzky and many others. Very disappointed in Wayne especially. His good guy image really got tarnished with this move. And recently of course as he switched from Centre to Right Wing. 🤪

So true. Certain products I refuse to buy as those advertisements are an insult to my intelligence.
