It has been a helluva season for you guys. Getting slime ball Dan out does wonders I guess. (oh and I guess a stud rookie QB) 😆

I look forward to seeing you guys this coming Saturday. My Motor City Kitties better be ready; we've struggled against mobile QBs this season so I expect this game to be closer than the seed lines suggest. Ford Field will be rocking nonetheless.

If the ways he’s handled the Sixers is any indication Harris is only marginally better, but that still at least makes him league average by NFL owners standards so definitely an upgrade. Eagles fans are spoiled with Lurie, good owners shouldn’t be such a rare commodity in a league where ownership value is largely based on prestige, but I guess that tends to attract a certain kind of person.

Fortunately for the rest of the NFC East the division still has Jerry Jones, who apparently blew the opportunity to hire Bellicheck because Jerry couldn’t make up his mind on what to do with McCarthy.

you have to think neon deon is headed to dallas. no idea what to make of it.

so far, i have to say that i could not disagree more about Harris (and not just in comparison with slimey dan). it is a return to the great days of jack kent cooke, although only one season sample so far. who knows if it will last.

everyone there raves about the guy. he is giving them every chance to win. does not seem to interfere with the staff. has partners like magic J who know how to win so not all on him. harris is a lifelong fan, i believe (mind you, so was slimey) which seems to help. i gather he has a number of sporting teams but sees the commanders as the jewel in the crown and will do whatever it takes. have heard of issues with the sixers but i really know nothing about that so can't really comment. but when it comes to the commanders, could not be happier.

one last thing - even a dinky little field goal we have to make heart attack material. off the post? spare me.

i did think that if we could not control evans we'd get a hiding. we couldn't and somehow still managed to stumble over the line.

Excellent game! Daniels shows poise far beyond his rookie experience. Now that all the "garbage" has been purged from Snyder on down, they are starting off anew. They have a solid foundation to build on, regardless of the outcome of the next game!

He also just extorted Philadelphia for a new stadium then used it as leverage to get an even better deal weeks later. Almost everyone in the city hates him, but as I said he’s certainly an upgrade from the last owner (though the bar couldn’t be much lower).

not sure you can criticise an owner for doing their best to get a new stadium, without paying if they can. they all try it (these guys are not rich because they want to spend money if they don't have to). for me, comes back on the city and its politicians. they will decide if there are votes in it or not. one of the problems slimey dan ran into was that the politicians of DC and surrounds worked out that doing anything for dan would not be popular. he never got his stadium. harris will. anyone politician standing in the way of the commanders at the moment has a very short future. not sure what the pollies are like there now but i'll never forget that just after i arrived in DC, the mayor was filmed doing crack with a hooker. seemed to make him more popular. you had to love marion barry.

i don't really follow the nba these days - not since Jordan - but can i assume that the sixers are not a winning team? that never makes owners, coaches, administrators very popular.

The issue isn’t asking to build a new stadium - the issue was that they insisted on building it on an entirely unsuitable site and proceeded to lie about how much it would actually cost the city. Oh and virtually no one wanted it there. We have a sports complex in Philly. That’s where the stadiums have been for 60 some years. They could have built a new arena there and most everyone would’ve been thrilled. Instead they insisted on a downtown site, mostly out of Harris’s vanity. What’s more - they seem to have had no intention of following through, and They put the city through two years of grief to get a leg up on their current landlords. Either that or they were willing to give it up now that Harris has achieved his dream of being an NFL owner and doesn’t need to prove to the league he can bully a city into doing what he wants. It’s all very scummy and you better believe I will slam him for it.

Also, my mother always taught me that “everybody does it” isn’t an excuse for poor behavior.

Anyway, I’m happy you have a better owner now. Actually I’m not because the Commanders were mostly inept under Dan, but for you Ken I will make an exception to my fandom and be happy!!

Congrats @Ken Gargett I hope you rub it in Rob's face for the next several months at least! Was there a post-game celebratory SLR DC with some Bruce in the background?

i am not that sort of person (plus, he is a man c fan so has plenty of opp to return the favour while the glorious gunners keep stumbling about like a drunk hippo on ice.

to be honest, was so exhausted by the usual cardiac commanders that it was all too much.

most generous. had we got dumped out, and this has nothing to do with rob, i'd have been keen to see the pack or the bucs win it all. sadly the pack played like a broken toilet. think the rams v iggles will be a big one.

I think you're spot on here. Again, as a long suffering Lions fan, I want nothing more than an Eagles win over LA. If Detroit does happen to get by the commanders then having another 'homecoming' for Stafford scares me.

I actually watched a game today. I can't quite figure out why they are playing football with motor bike helmets on. Anyway that player Darnold needs to come over and do a pre-season with an AFL club. He was pathetic. He will come back a better man. What a jelly fish. Some may say he wasn't protected. He had plenty of moments ball in hand where his decision making went to mush.

In horse racing we'd say he went back to previous form. In this case, a bad thing.

The whole Vikings team seemed to lack the intensity required to win a playoff game. Rams had it from the get go; of course it helps if the opposing QB doesn't understand the concept of throwing the ball away to avoid a sack and lost yardage.

They should probably put his agent on suicide watch.

I heard the comparison today between Darnold's value and the Stock Market crash of 2008 😨

Whoa big fella. As a new member to the mythical Monte A group, you should know how unacceptable it is to root for the evil empire.

The Monte A’s are real. What’s mythical is the idea that anyone other than a pack of great-great grandchildren will ever get to smoke them. 👿

Just smoke them, please! Don't wait on the Vikings Sir. Once you are dead and buried/cremated, nobody will care about your cigars. Trust me.

Apologies. I know the Monte A's are real. It's the notion of the group smoking them that is mythical. I should have used better grammer 😁

You can swap the Lions logo with Rams logo too. 4 losses all year including playoffs to only 2 teams, that's different.

  • JohnS changed the title to 2024–25 NFL playoffs
