El Presidente Posted January 6 Posted January 6 It's a tough game I have to say that I feel for one season coaches (head/OC/DC) shown the door when they inherit a squad. NFL is the biggest sports money game in the world and failure is rarely tolerated. Playoffs! Looking forward to Bucs V Commanders. Mayfield V Daniels! Daniels has to be the find of the year. Mayfield (2nd year with Bucs), the biggest comeback since Lazarus. Rob verse Ken. How I would love to watch this live with Ken! It won't happen as Ken is incapable of watching any major sports event with anyone else in the room. I have done it once where ....uninvited....I turned up to watch a game. he kicked me out to the verandah and told me not to interrupt him. I watched him walking around, swearing at every perceived misdemeanour on the screen, cigar in one hand and Champagne in the other...picture "Tourettes meets Tattinger". Bring it on! If you still have a team in play....I wish them the best! If your team is out....Next year! I love an underdog and have a soft spot for both Vikings, Bills. The Bucs are not a bowl team this year so I would love to see either one of those teams take the Lombardie. Mind you, Commanders roll Bucs and it will be a fairy tale moment to see them make a run. Whoever you support.....enjoy! 3
Ken Gargett Posted January 6 Posted January 6 where is the other brother grimm this morning? you know that is a lie. first, you had an open invitation. hell, you had a couch named after you. you were kicked out because you insisted you needed a cigarette. not in my house. filthy things. out you went. be thankful you were allowed the balcony. i never drink champagne with an origin game. it would have been a very good rum. you are more than welcome Monday for the game. i will even put the shade across outside so you don't have to stand in the sun to look in. i think we are a shot to beat the bucs but definitely not favourites. running game, other than Daniels, has collapsed. terry m has spent five years not able to drop a ball no matter how difficult. last two games, he had a run of 9 drops from 11. but we love him. we need our centre back or Daniels will be running for his life. most importantly, we need Lattimore to play against his least favourite WR, evans. no Lattimore and baker M will put up 800 yards if we have st juste or davis as a CB. also, apparently we have forgotten how to stop the run. but Daniels does find a way. of course, that will come crashing down at some stage. personally, i have always liked the pack and the bucs and if the pack can beat the eagles, then the winner of bucs v commodes will have a home final against them. otherwise, we or the bucs go to the iggles. that would be tough. i'm hoping commodes, but can live with bucs or pack winning it all. then, anyone but the iggles. can't see Texans, steelers, broncos getting there. not completely convinced by the chargers. bills and chiefs and lions (and, hate to say it, iggles) look solid. plus, never write off sean mcvay. ravens? but the bills will surely do bills things and one suspects the injuries might finally catch up with the lions. i think yesterday was the line in the sand for the Vikings. can't see them even making the big one. on a related matter, next year's schedule - we have a brutal one. as well as usual NFC East, the pack, chiefs, dolphins, Vikings, chargers all away and lions at home. what i do not understand is why we are also playing Chicago again? played them this season, all hail the hail mary, so shouldn't they be ruled out for a few years. not that i mind. all hail the hail mary... 2
chasy Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Gotta be the Lions. You say underdogs. They are the easiest team to root for.
Mr. DD Posted January 7 Posted January 7 As a Denver Broncos fan, I’m just excited to see them make the playoffs after a 9 year hiatus, even if it’s only for the wildcard round. Bo Nix is developing well.

benfica_77 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 We need a friendly wager between @El Presidente and @Ken Gargett...loser has to wear the opponents jersey in the next cigar review? My money is on the Commanders winning but Baker has proven to get the job done this season.

Seriously, the Packers at their best are good enough to beat anyone. A great QB with a deep ball touch, bulldog RB, knock-down Secondary and up-and-coming linesmen, and now with a dependable kicker again. We just haven't seen them play their best .....at all yet...this season. No time like the present! I'd like to cheer the Lions if GB falls out, but their bandwagon got insufferable really quickly. You'd think Detroit was titletown, the way some of these guys talk. Plus, the endless going-for-it-on-4th-down schtick is getting old, but that's sour grapes on my part because we never stop them on 4th down .

anacostiakat Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Going to be a tough game for the Commanchees. Agree with Ken on current analysis. I think Daniels goes up for OROY regardless. You can argue for Quinn as COY but that usually goes to the overall winner. I too sure hope we don't have to play St Juste. Also our starting center makes a hell of a diff. Baker is hot. Not good for us. Who would have thought? I was hoping for an eight win season to double last year's wins. This is fantastic! I too like the Lions.

I too like the Lions. i think every fan would have been delighted with 8 wins. one bloke on the forum i used to follow was insistent that we would not win a game. he is now explaining why it was a sensible prediction even if... the thing that gets me is that for the entire season, we either won games or we lost by one score or less (bar one game). that is fantastic. i know some have said we were lucky in some games - all hail the hail mary - but daniels is amazing the way he finds a way. but in four games, we were within one score and did not win, so not always so lucky. of course, the only game we lost by more than one score, tampa. and who do we play this weekend?
