JohnS Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Stork Club Name Returns for Cigar Concept January 3, 2025 - Charlie Minato The Stork Club, albeit not the Stork Club, is back. Landmark Hospitality, which operates bars, restaurants and hotels in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, has brought back the Stork Club name as part of the company’s cigar program. The Stork Club was an iconic Manhattan nightclub that operated from 1929-1965. Due to its prime midtown location and Sherman Billingsley’s reputation for showering celebrities with gifts, it was a celebrity for movie stars, monarchs and more. Today, the club’s location is Paley Park, a private park named after Samuel Paley, the founder of La Palina. Landmark has brought back the name for a variety of different uses. First, the company’s four cigar lounges are called the Stork Club; a fifth lounge is scheduled to open soon. Second, there’s a Stork Club Cigar Club, a membership program. Third, there are Stork Club-branded cigars. The company has partnered with Kingmakers Cigars to launch the Stork Club No. 53, a 6 x 52 toro with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers. It has an MSRP is $15 per cigar and will only be sold at Landmark’s Stork Club lounges and Kingmakers’ website. Kingmakers has its cigars made in Nicaragua but has not disclosed the name of the factory(s) it works with. The company has its own brand but has also partnered with WNBA star Kelsey Plum and Midland, a country band, for private label cigars.
