Popular Post JohnS Posted January 2 Popular Post Posted January 2 Laurent at Habano News has just uploaded his latest video outlining details of the launch event for the Ramon Allones Absolutos LE 2024 next month. According to him, On February 3rd 2025, Habanos SA and Intertabak the official distributor of Habanos in Switzerland and Liechtenstein will launch the new Ramon Allones Absolutos Limited Edition 2024. The dinner party will take place in Basel. He mentions in the video below that the vitola dimensions on Cuban Cigar Website differ from what he has listed. @ATGroom, a heads up...he'll be in touch, dear friend! 😉 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sioOuL4J2YA 7 1

The dimensions on CCW are what Habanos put in their press kit at the festival. These things do change sometimes, but I haven't heard about it if so. Will double check when the cigars surface. 7 1
Marco_011t556 Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Smoked one but dare not post the photos. Second band with premier limited edition 2024, maybe too fresh so not very impressive though. For a new released product, I personally prefer Chanchan (sc Peru). 2

Fugu Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Alex is right and more up to date (of course…). Habano News is referring to the outdated info of Halfwheel from February, where there had likely been a mixing up of formats, stating the Cabildos as ‘Nuevos’ format. But which in fact is the current format chosen for the RA EL. Whereas the Cabildos have finally come out as ‘Ilustres’ format (6 3/8’’ / 162 mm x 46), as we meanwhile know. Which is almost identical to the originally announced 'Cazadores Especiales', presented by Halfwheel as the chosen format for the Ramon Allones Absolutos. 1 1

Hardly worth the time typing it up, but if you would like the inside story of the thrills and spills of updating websites, here it is: The cigars were first announced to distributors as the ELs for 2022, but they were never announced to the public as there was no festival that year and very few releases of any kind. I nonetheless heard about them at added them to CCW. At that time the Cabildos was a 49x156 Nuevos and the Absolutos was a 47x162 Cazadores Especiales. At the festival in 2023 there were no new ELs announced, but on the release list for the the distributors the same three were there, this time listed as 2023 ELs. I updated CCW with this info. The sizes were unchanged. Again, nothing was heard of these cigars publicly from Habanos, but Halfwheel did an article about them. https://halfwheel.com/habanos-s-a-selects-three-cigars-for-edicion-limitada-2023/422784/ At the festival in 2024, the cigars were finally formally announced as 2024 cigars, with the slightly modified and renamed sizes. I updated CCW to reflect this, although I neglected to update the grey picture silhouette for the cigar which still had the caption "Cazadores Especiales - a new special release size" until a few days ago. Halfwheel ran their article immediately after the cigars were announced. They didn't pick up on the new sizes and copy-pasted from their old article. https://halfwheel.com/h-upmann-magnum-finite-ramon-allones-absolutos-trinidad-cablidos-formally-announces-as-2024-edicion-limitada-cigars/435354/ Anyway, apologies for whatever part I played in the confusion. Can confirm the size on CCW is correct: Nuevos - 49 × 156 mm (6⅛″) 6 4

That our best man apologizes for his service, haha . Original cause of the confusion is HSA, as has been so many times before…Yeah, and somehow adding to the confusion that David Savona in his Feb CA article got the ring gauge for those two ELs right but swapped their lengths. 1

The Cohiba 55 anniversary celebration in Cuba. Bulgaria had the Hoyo no.4. Madrid had the Magnum Finite. Forget the Trinidad fiasco. Now this. I think there's now a trend! Fancy dinners releases. Count me out.

Almost every EL or prestige cigar has had some kind of launch event going back forever. They've not traditionally been massive events, just a fancy party hosted by a distributor with local industry people, VIP customers, cigar press etc. The Swiss one will be on this kind of scale. I suppose we're getting a bit more exposure to these things thanks to social media people. The big gala events like London in June or Doha last month is something new. I'd expect these to continue. Expensive to run but they invite every person with a following who all post about it non-stop for a week, it gets covered in every magazine, discussed on forums etc etc. Can't beat the advertising exposure. 6 1
Wlu1988 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Does anyone happen to know if/when this vitola will hit the shelves in London?
JohnS Posted April 4 Author Posted April 4 Ramón Allones Absolutos EL 2024 Launching in Switzerland on April 23 April 3, 2025 - Patrick Lagreid The Ramón Allones Absolutos EL 2024 is ready to make its retail debut this month, as it will be released in La Casa del Habano shops in Switzerland on April 23, ahead of a wider launch in the country on April 30. The Absolutos is a grand corona that measures 6 3/8 (156mm) x 47, a vitola known as the Nuevos, which is a new size for the Cuban portfolio. Pricing is set at CHP 45 ($52.45) per cigar and CHF 900 ($1,044.88) for a box of 20 cigars. The cigars are expected to begin shipping to other parts of the world in the near future, though there is no specific timetable for their worldwide release. They join the other two 2024 Ediciön Limitada releases, the H. Upmann Magnum Finite and the Trinidad Cablidos. All three cigars were originally selected to be the 2022 Edición Limitada cigars though Cuban cigar distributors were informed they would instead be 2023 Edición Limitada releases. However, that didn’t happen and the cigars became 2024 releases that were announced last February. Edición Limitada cigars are a new size for a particular brand, one that might not be a new Cuban cigar size, but one that hasn’t been sold as part of that particular brand before. As the name would imply, the cigars are offered in limited quantities, though production numbers are rarely disclosed. The blends feature tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo region of Pinar del Rio that has been aged for a minimum of two years. Additionally, they get a secondary band that reads “Edición Limitada” and the year they were announced. Images courtesy of Intertabak AG/Habanos S.A. Popular Post LaoFan Posted April 4 Popular Post Posted April 4 These were getting rolled on the same bench as Connie B's and Maltes in the H. Upmann factory. Was told shoot freely for taking pictures except in the blending room. Apparently had some spies trying to shoot video to nab secrets. 14
