JohnS Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 This article has a special interest to me as I recall both @El Presidente and @Fuzz used a Quad Pump Lighter at one time in the distant past. I tried to acquire one on-line about seven or eight years ago but the acquisition couldn't be fulfilled, I was refunded and I moved on to another product which I'm quite satisfied with. December 24, 2024 - Patrick Lagreid Vector Releasing Icon V at TPE 2025 Alongside New V-Cutter and Four New Colors of Quad Pump Lighter Vector-KGM has announced its new products for next month’s Total Product Expo (TPE) in Las Vegas, and it’s a group headlined by the new Icon V lighter and a new v-cutter that the company is keeping under wraps until the show. The company has been teasing the launch of the Icon V lighter since mid-September and has confirmed that it will debut at TPE 2025 and will begin shipping on Jan. 31. As previously reported, the lighter features a new “crown jet torch” flame that uses six jet torch flames in a v-formation, which the company says makes toasting cigars easier while not being overpowering. As with the rest of the Icon Series, the Icon V features a touch-sensitive panel for ignition, while the internal ignition’s battery is recharged via a USB-C cable. Additionally, the lighter has an on/off switch on the base of the lighter. It has also been announced that the Icon V will be available in seven colors: gunmetal satin, copper gold, black matter, sparkle blue, sparkle black, prizm, and chrome satin. Each lighter is priced at $100 and comes with a pouch to protect the finish, along with Vector’s no-proof warranty. Also new in the lighter department, Vector is adding a new nickel satin matte color for the Quad Pump lighter, a table top lighter that uses four jet torch flames in a merging configuration. The company is also bringing back three previously discontinued color ways: a two-tone black matte and hi-polish chrome, chrome satin, and a hi-polish chrome. The Quad Pump also features a magnetic plate on its base that offers a punch cutter and draw poker. It is priced at $150 and the new colorways are also scheduled to beginning shipping on Jan. 31. Vector will also be showing off a new v-cutter that it is calling the V-Cut1080, though the company is not disclosing any details or releasing any images of the cutter until TPE 2025 begins on Jan. 29. The company currently offers two v-cutters, the V-Cut250 and V-Cut330. In early November, several new wood trim finishes were added to both models. Images courtesy of Vector-KGM. KCCubano Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 I'm pretty sure I got a Vector lighter for Christmas one year and it crapped out on me in two months. 1
Fuzz Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I actually had the older Vector Tri-Pump, but hardly ever used it as it was quite cumbersome. Pretty sure it has crapped out on me after only less than 20 times actual use. Never could understand why the jets were arranged in a sideways triangle. Looked odd to me. 2
