Popular Post Chas.Alpha Posted December 21 Popular Post Posted December 21 Ok, let’s start by saying I didn’t know what FFS for the review weekend meant. I thought it was something completely different. I should have named this “What in the Sweet Name of Jesus Is This???” review weekend. When we were kids, my siblings and I would play a game in the backseat of the car called 20 questions. The 1st question was always: Animal. Vegetable. Mineral. Vegemite defies all of these things. It has no common reference to flavor. It took me down through the backroads of my memories until I was finally able to discern what it was. A broken-down 1966 Ford Falcon, driving past an oil refinery in Pennsylvania with the windows rolled down on a muggy summer day. Seriously, you Aussies don’t actually eat this? Don’t they have strawberry preserves in Oz? When I share Christmas recipes for Lutefisk, I shall no longer hang my head. I went twice, for review purposes. The 1st time, I followed the FOH recommendations. The 2nd time, I tried to “dab and smear ” the toast, but I found myself stabbing at the thing as if the first piece of toast had done something wrong. I learned the first time not to open the jar in the house. The scent was imbedded into everything porous. I washed and bleached the kitchen towels twice and I’m having the draperies steam cleaned after the holidays. I’m not sure if this can be used as an industrial lubricant. It should come with a warning label “Not For Human Consumption.” 1 8
