Great, we have two new cigars. I would have liked those two formats swapped over. PL Diademas would be amazing.

Por Larrañaga Lotus and Flor de Cano Diademas Released

Last month, Pacific Cigar Co.—the distributor of Cuban cigars in more than 30 countries across Asia and Oceania—hosted a gala dinner where the company’s two newest Edición Regional releases debuted: the Por Larrañaga Lotus and the Flor de Cano Diademas.

The first new cigar is the Por Larrañaga Lotus Edición Regional Macau, a 4 3/4 (120mm) x 54 petit robusto, which is the same size as the H. Upmann Magnum 54. The cigar is an exclusive release for Macau.

Pricing is set at HKD 550 ($70.75) each and production is limited to 4,000 boxes of 25 for a total of 100,000 cigars.

The La Flor de Cano Diademas Edición Regional Asia Pacifíco is not a diademas vitola. Instead, it’s the classic Churchill, a 7 (178mm) x 47 parejo. In the modern world, a diadema refers to a perfecto shape. This La Flor de Cano Diademas is not the first release, the brand offered a similarly-sized cigar from 1987-1992.

Pricing for the La Flor de Cano Diademas is set at HKD 650 ($83.61) each and there are 100,000 cigars packaged in 25-count boxes that will eventually be sold by stores across the Asia Pacific region.

The Edición Regional program is offered by Habanos S.A. to its various distributors around the world. Each year, distributors can select one cigar to be commissioned for their region, though there have been exceptions when some distributors have been able to select more than one. Those cigars must come from a brand that was not part of the company’s former “Global Brands” and must be a size that is currently not offered in that specific brand.

Edición Regional cigars are signified by a secondary red and silver band that reads Edición Regional, followed typically by the name of the region represented by that specific distributor. Often, the cigars do not arrive at stores during the year they are selected for, sometimes multiple years later. In this case, both new cigars were announced as part of the 2023 program.

They’ve started appearing on social media so someone must be selling them somewhere.

I've seen Alexcigardandy with the LFDC on Instagram too 🧐

Why in the hell is it called Diademas and not the named format? Not buying on that tomfoolery point alone 😂 yes, yes the old one was Churchill. Still, it’s like calling something Churchill and it being a Figurado. Just not right, Jose!
