Cestis4 Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Good day all, I was gifted the above cigar last night and I seem to remember that the Reserva Consecha band and the Wide Churchill band being one piece and this one came apart as two pieces. The printing looks clean and accurate on the label. The photos don’t transmit the accuracy of the printing on the label as precise as they actually are. Is this a fake or is my memory faulty? Thanks!
JohnS Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Yes, Cuban Cigar Website confirms that this release had a special combined Wide Churchills and Gran Reserva band.
Cestis4 Posted December 15, 2024 Author Posted December 15, 2024 Thanks John, I saw that too. The term combined is a little ambiguous in that it doesn't specify whether the two bands are physically connected as one or are they simply combined together on the cigar. I was hoping someone here might actually have a legit one around to take a look at.
ATGroom Posted January 6 Posted January 6 There are two bands. The normal RYJ one is one band. The combined Wide Churchills and Gran Reserva band is another single band, ie, it looks like two bands because it has the gold stripe of the Wide Churchills and the black of the GR, but they are one single connected band. From your pictures it looks as though the Wide Churchills and GR bands are one piece, but if as you say they are separate then the cigar is likely fake.
