El Presidente Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 I am going to run this poll series over the course of this week before pooling and analysing the result. If these cigars are in your rotation, please take part. Let's define rotation as a cigar that is smoked at least once every four months In terms of ratings, live with the points system as put forward. Some members use stars, others have a 10 point assessment process, others use bananas.......it doesn't really matter....just adapt as best you can. Montecristo Number 2 1
JV0505 Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Classic yet modern. There’s a reason they’re so popular
riderpride Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 From the last 3-4 years, I'd say 91-93 and riiiich. A few years before that and I would have said 87-88. Cheers! 1

JohnS Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 I have a few box codes across '20, '21, '22 and overall I've been quite pleased too. 1
MagicalBikeRide Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 A quiet corner in the beer garden, a Monte 2 and a couple pints of stout - has all the potential to be an other worldly experience. Sky is the limit. 2020 through to 2024 boxes have been brilliant for me. No duds among them yet. 3
Habanoschris Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 2018 , 2019 boxes that I had aged (from foh) well were 91-93 easily for me and some were probably even 94-95. Some newer boxes so far need more time it seems. I had a 3 pack that was 88-90 though young.
Shakey Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 One of the first Cubans I had and still one of my go-to favorites, to me this cigar is the definition of twang. Smoking 2019s and have some 2023s in storage. 1
RDB Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 I think this has one of the highest averages of all vitolas, maybe along with the E2 and Lusi.
westg Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 2012 and 2014 Monte PSP were bombs. So amazing, mid-nineties all day long. One of my favourite cigars. 2

The 10 count boxes made great gifts when they were ~$100. I doubt I would buy another box in either count unless I saw it in person, or the vendor has promoted that particular run of boxes as being worthy of picking up. The magic is few and far between for the Monte No.2 compared to other cigars in the same vitola (outside of the Diplomatico No. 2).
Lamboinee Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 The CC that made me fall in love with CCs. Reliably great imo. 3
GVan Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 My MSU Nov 18 box of Monte 2s is the number one cigar in the Humi right now. Consistently 91+ with about every third one 94+. While I normally let anyone pick anything they want out of the Humi, I've stopped talking these up so they last a little longer!
