Popular Post El Presidente Posted November 28 Popular Post Posted November 28 I was speaking to Foxy last night and he was excited that the long awaited Irish Regional is coming to fruition. This photo was taken in the La Corona factory this week. I think you will find a different band on the final production cigars. Look for a summer release. No idea of pricing at this point. 50 x 160 mm Punch Nectares Punch Nectares 1960's 12 3
99call Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Great heritage...and a great marca which is on a long hot run. 2
avitus Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Interesting, if I'm not mistaken Ireland has plain package rule for cigars, so its up to distributor to re-pack it? Thought they come from Cuba in plain package.
Puros Y Vino Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Very cool!! Was very fortunate to smoke one of the originals a few years back. Fantastic experience. 1

I made a presentation pack for Habanos in 2021. Then I was told I couldn't meet with Habanos. I bumped into Luis Harguindey at a cigar club dinner in Havana in November 2021 and happened to have the document on my phone showing the bands I had mocked up for the release. I had even found old Punch bands with a similar green. Thus green, white and gold bands for the first Irish regional. Not too dissimilar to what the Italians got (in blue) for their 2009 Punch Diadema Extra. He loved them and couldn't see a problem with them. In the end those bands were "not approved", somewhere between Ireland and Habanos.. Which I think was a shame. I think they would have looked well. 14 5
JohnS Posted November 29 Posted November 29 I concur @Ryan, that design is quite good. It's a shame it didn't go further. 3
Popular Post Ryan Posted November 29 Popular Post Posted November 29 "No special bands for the regional release" we were told. In English. Then look at the band Spain is getting next year for its Juan Lopez "Cincuenta y Cuatro" (taken in Havana last Friday). It's a lovely band, but leaves quite a taste. 4 1

And the original box should not be sold to a customer or displayed in a shop, but it can enter the country and goes direct to the retailer. 1

For anyone that wants to speculate on pricing, a Connie B currently costs ~$100USD here. A Siglo IV just below $150USD. And so on. @El Presidente - Do you know if Rob and the guys at JJF are working on the blend? Or has it all been through H&F? 1 1
CaptainQuintero Posted November 29 Posted November 29 They look lovely, didn't think I'd ever see the Ireland RE ever come to fruition so kudos to all involved! What's the distributor for Ireland? My mind says H&F but my gut is saying no?
Darco Posted November 29 Posted November 29 Amazing look. Good to see more of nostalgic releases in both names and packaging, hope there is a way to replicate flavors (can they?!). It will be cool to replicate the name of a discounted size (I believe Nectares no. 6 was a 50 ring gauge). The only downside is that it will be for Ireland (sorry guys 😢) because of the pricing and plain packaging!

But what do retailers do with boxes? Just throw them away?
