I kept saying I was going to smoke a cigar and now I am too tired and going to bed.  Anxious to see how this plays out over the night.

Goooood moooooorning MAGA. The sun is risen .... albeit behind a vast curtain of clouds here. I've still got cigar finish in my mouth from last night. I'm hungry and I can go out and buy some lunch. And looking forward to the gym tonight. The world has yet to end. But I heard all about how the rocket came down oh so gently and the arms came down so gently around it and how we've not yet invented a paint to withstand the heat of rocket flames. Oh and from Dana. Most entertaining :)

I feel like it’s fitting having an H. Upmann PC (majestic) as it was Kennedy’s favorite cigar. I’m not sure what other presidents have smoked so if anyone has other cigars presidents have smoked I’d be happy to hear.

What will be the celebration cigar today? I opened up an '85 Fonseca Vintage Port and had a glass before going to bed.

The FoH Election Zoom Herf 2024 went off without a hitch last night so a big kudos to all who took part.

It was a Petit Upmann IIRC? I've been curious to try, but alas not to be.

Very cool I've always seen transcripts of the first story he told but never seen an actual recording. I know Petit Upmanns were the ones he enjoyed but I think they have long been discontinued. If I remember they were also machine-made.

Does anyone know (jokes aside) what cigars Clinton smoked? I thought Macanudo or Ashton, but I could be way off.

Obama smokes cigarettes, but not sure on cigars. Who would've been the last president before Clinton to be a known cigar smoker?

Oh that's right... you have sheep down there.  I'll send them right down. Will you be needing the oil and lube? It's still available.  🤠

John Kennedy was a big HU fan!  Here' a snip  found online about it:  A modern president who was known for his love of H. Upmann cigars, especially the Petit Upmann/Demi Tasse. Before signing the embargo against Cuban tobacco products, he asked his press secretary to buy 1,000 Cuban cigars.

Little hand made's https://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/cigar/h-upmann/petit-upmann-1

And machine made's https://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/cigar/h-upmann/petit-upmann-2

Nothing's ever straightforward where Cuba is concerned.

Are you saying the Kennedy was the last president since Clinton to smoke cigars?

I read somewhere that Clinton was/is a fan of Paul Garmirian (PG) Cigars.

Several American presidents were known for their love of cigars. Here are a few notable ones:

Ulysses S. Grant - Perhaps the most famous cigar-smoking president, Grant was known to smoke up to 20 cigars a day.
John F. Kennedy - JFK had a particular fondness for Cuban cigars and famously secured a large stash just before signing the Cuban trade embargo.
Theodore Roosevelt - Often seen with a cigar, Roosevelt enjoyed them as part of his robust lifestyle.
William McKinley - Known for his deep passion for cigars, McKinley was rarely seen without one except during meals or sleep.
Andrew Jackson - Both he and his wife enjoyed cigars, often pairing them with coffee.
Dwight D. Eisenhower - Eisenhower enjoyed cigars, especially after White House parties.

These presidents not only enjoyed cigars but also made them a part of their presidential persona.

Wasn't President Grant's death one of the reasons cigars were seen as so bad for you? He had throat cancer and many believed it was due to his cigars.

Try finding a full length picture of Grant WITHOUT a cigar. It isn’t easy!

For the record I smoked a 2020 Winnie and it was easily my cigar of the year.

See my cigar of the month for October. I'm right there with you.
