MagicalBikeRide Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 The Trinidad Reyes is (was?) a popular cigar but suffered as a result of Habanos price increases. In local B&M’s here, they now retail for about $45USD. A pal recently saw them online (trustworthy site), but discounted to below $20USD. This sparked a debate - what is a fair price for a Reyes? And it’s made me curious - What price is low enough for you buy / buy again? 1
Popular Post El Presidente Posted October 18, 2024 Popular Post Posted October 18, 2024 From the hip? $12.50 - $13.50 That is what I pay for a Padron 1926 Principe Maduro and the Reyes is as good/superior. 8
99call Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Their Coloniales price had piqued my interest 1

I was thinking $10, so we're in the same ball park. Although even that price shows how the recent spike in prices has desensitized us. Less than 4 years ago, you could get a Coloniales for sub $10. 3
teamrandr Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 $12 sounds really fair. Reyes were always consistent for me. My heart is still broken about them. 1
Chibearsv Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 I agree with everyone else - $299 for a 24 box is where I’m a buyer. 1
RDB Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Yeah, but honestly? If I knew it was a good box I’d pay USD20 per. Wouldn’t you? They can be very nice. 1
amberleaf Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Much as I like them, given their size they are a sub $10 cigar. $6-8 would be fair imo. It doesn't seem too long ago when I paid 120 CUC for a 24 box on the island. 1
CaptainQuintero Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 £8ish is where I am, more than that and I don't. Which means I don't. 😅 1
Duxnutz Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 Max $300. I like Cubans better than their counterparts but Habanos must be losing lots of market share right now with the unaccounted for US market. When you can get boxes of decent non cc for max $250 I for one won’t buy much more Habanos. 1
westg Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 In Aus as of today as little as 60 notes and as much as $79. 1
SCgarman Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 Let's see. First box ever purchased from our host here was a 24 box of Reyes. Ready for the price? $158usd. No, not kidding!😂 1
karp Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 $10-15 max. These are great but a Hoyo de depute is also great and cheaper. I don’t see the value over this price point. 2
smokeyjoe01 Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 Not what I’d pay, but the going rate for Reyes in the UK today is same price as a BHK52 was 10 years ago. Last time I bought Reyes I paid $19.73 per stick on 13th October 2022 (Bond Roberts) from @canadianbeaver & I recall she threw in a Coloniales, Partagas 898 and something else...I can’t recall. 2
Li Bai Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 $12-13 seems fair, just a little above the Party Shorts which is my favorite short smoke. 2
loose_axle Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 I bought one box a couple of years ago and I think it worked out around $AU22 a cigar. I didn't really like the Reyes, I'd much rather an RG Perlas or SCDLH El Principe for that size so I'd never buy one again, especially at current prices. My go to in the size NC wise would be the Flor de Selva Siesta. A really nice light floral smoke. 2
ha_banos Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 Today I guess I'd pay 12£, 15£ begrudgingly. Certainly not double this which is the pricing here these days. 1
MrBirdman Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 $10-$12 max. $20 is kinda ridiculous, anything above that is a straight-up piss take. 3 1

Great price but that would be before Cuban price bombing. Seeing Trinidad cost settling down now that they are more available though. Trini box of 24, going for $950 for 2 boxes (at an online vendor) today and this is🥰 A while back would have been 30% higher or more. CB
Goldeneye Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 Around $15 Canadian would be reasonable. These used to be my go to cigar for dog walks when I could them at a reasonable price while visiting Cuba. I doubt I will ever buy another though at the current price and I have a new dog walking cigar, AF Short Story and I'm quite happy. 2
