Sia
Hi all, as a newbie to the world of cigars, I've got a few questions which I hope this is the right forum to post it to (admin please remove or let me know if this isn't where I should post this). I've got a 4 shelf electronic humidor which after research have set to 18 C and 68% RH to rest both my cubans and NC's. 1 - Is this the best configuration for resting and maybe aging my cigars? 2 - Is it ok that I have both cubans and NC's stored in there? they're on separate shelves. 3 - Does one leave them out of the humidor for a particular period of time before smoking? I've read dry boxing for 12 - 24 hours is recommended to bring the humidity slightly down which could lead to better burn and flavours. Not sure if there's a difference between what humidity level cubans and NC's should drop to for an ideal smoke. 4 - Any other recommendations for a newbie is certainly appreciated. They are all great questions. However I would strongly recommend actually using the search function, as you will find all these questions answered in many previous threads, many times over. For example we have a fantastic, if not slightly curmudgeonly member called @PigFish who is a humidor tzar/wizard. If you delve into the search function for threads relating to your questions, you will find reams and reams of fantastic, highly technical and valuable information. Happy hunting
