loose_axle Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 Just curious, does anyone know why there's been a dry up of 25ct boxes of Magnum 50's? I presume it's just a cycle thing and whilst none now there'll be boxes appearing in 6 months/a year again. I've seen 10'ers showing up but that its it. On a separate note, what are people's favourites from this line? I enjoy the No 2 but Mag 50 and Mag 56 (jar never got my hands on the LE 2015) are where it's at for me. Yet to try a Sir Winston though I have one stashed away for a special occasion. People tell me it's overrated and some say its the best of the line so until I've had one will hold off hunting a box.
BrightonCorgi Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 Mag 46 is my favorite of the Magnum series of cigars. No. 2 is one of my primary "go to" cigars. The Monarch was my overall favorite, but that shipped sailed. Sir Winston lives up to the expectation. I too reserve for special occasions. Perfect reason why the Monarch was so cherished. 4

It's a lot of leaf, and they can make more money making other Upmanns. 11 hours ago, loose_axle said: what are people's favourites from this line? Love the stone fruit of aged Mag 50s...a real substitute for a SLDC, if you can put some real age on them. Like BC my answer would have been the Monarch. Sorry to say Winstons are definitely worth chasing. Made a value move recently and bought a box of Coronas Major for the first time in a while. Lovely medium body, very bready and sweet. I real quality cigar for the money, and something I'll be doubling/tripling down on. 4
BoliDan Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 Sir Winnies are my favorite of the marca. Never heard anyone call it overrated. I'd probably ignore their opinions from the moment they said that. 1

I thought that might be the case, I'm sure they'll pop up again at some stage. Yeah the substitute to the SLDC is primarily what I'm after and why I'm putting away the Mag 50's if I can find them. The 56's have been good young though. Nah good to know, and thanks to all for your input, I will probably hunt a box Sir Winnies in the next year or two. I've been told this is another one for long term aging. 1
MagicalBikeRide Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 Winnies are amazing (albeit mine basically all gone and won’t be replaced). I enjoy almost everything from HU - the Mag54 has been the biggest surprise for me. I just hate the format but keep reaching for it. Been smoking great young for me too. 3
