, she thinks

Well....there's your answer.  She's gonna get what she thinks she wants.

Honestly, if I had more than one child I know exactly what car I would buy...a minivan. Is it sexy? Not particularly. But they ride great, haul great, are easy to get in and get out of, have better gas mileage, double captains chairs, they are the best multi person haulers IMO. Tell your wife  (i.e. ask your wife if you can tell her) that if practicality is her goal, then get over the fear of being a "mini van mom" and embrace a life of easy car seat management, better ride, and the dog can roam around wherever it wants inside. Congrats on the new addition to your family. If you get a minivan, make sure and put one of the stickers representing each family member for the back window.

I suggested a mini van to my wife when we got to 3 kids and she told me to pick from an X5 and Q7. First world problems!

My current supertoy is a Shelby Cobra 427 continuation powered by a Ford FE side oiler bored to 482 cid with a Dynatek 8 stack. It’s a beast, I don’t drive it very much. I should get rid of it but I can’t bring myself to sell it. I have wanted this car since I was 10 years old. I also have the new Aston DB12. Much more practical, I love it. Other than women, the lines on Astons are the pinnacle of beauty to me. This is actually my sixth Aston, most recently had a DB11. I have toned down the car stuff in recent years since I became a father and now get to spend my money on more fun things like private school and replacing the roof on my house. I also have a Rivian R1S, my wife actually has another one. Love them. I would say the Rivians offset the gallon of gas per minute the 427 guzzles but I am am going to hell anyway

Wow! Awesome stuff, my brother works at the Rivian plant and probably assembled your batteries. Yeah if I was to buy an Aston I don't think that I could get away from a manual 2008-9ish DBS, just one of my adolescent poster cars. The Dynatek stacks look gorgeous, I'm sure it induces one hell of an induction noise. DB12's are so beautiful, beautiful collection of cars. If you ever want to take one to a track day weekend let me know I am a licensed instructor.

X7 is great, but it’s not in the same class as the others. By that I mean it’s actually a true 7 passenger vehicle and a lot more $. So it should be better, by a large margin.

Dream car. I am and have always been obsessed with the 911 Targa. I was born in 1988, so maybe one day I’ll be able to find one. Current Porsche pricing isn’t making me hopeful…

Got ours used at 45k top tier trim with the 40i (B58b30 engine is amazing and super overbuilt without the hot V8 problems), currently at 80k with nothing but tires and oil changes. Got it for 48k.

Can't ever go wrong with air-cooled.

When I was shopping 3.5 years ago they were $129k here in Canada vs $72k for a Q7 TFSI 55. That’s a lot of cigars in the difference. A new Q7 now is $98k for the same trim, I’d be scared to look at the X7 prices.

I’ve been obsessed with Porsche for most of my life. This is mine. It’s a ‘99 911 Coupe.

I really don't know what it is, but the 996's have REALLY been attracting my attention. I'd love to get a 996 Carrera s with the oem aero kit. Maybe put some BBS E88's on it. 996 has been such a slept on 911 for so long. Glad people are coming around to appreciate them. Beautiful car man.

Certified Pre owned? Nice thought, past few years it’s been hard enough to find new cars, even if I could find a suitable used car the interest rates for pre-owned have been ridiculously high.

They're great buys. One of the premier Porsche indy repair shops in the Northeast is a few miles from my house. I've been tempted to buy a 911 more than once. Would be a heck of a lot easier to own than an Aston or Lotus which are my preferred marques.

That is cool. I never ever thought I would buy an EV but I’m a big fan of Rivian. RJ the founder/CEO grew up about an hour north of me and I live on the Indian River, the name Rivian is a twist on the name. A neighbor of mine - a huge huge car guy who used to race for Porsche - has known RJ since he was born and is friends w RJ’s father (also a huge car guy). He said from the time RJ was a toddler it was obvious he was going to do something really big in life. Super gifted. Love the whole story. I also own the stock and hope it doesn’t go to zero! Been a wild ride.

Amazon has done a lot make sure Rivian is a viable company. I see a lot of Rivians in my locale.

I wish I could say the same about Lucid. A friend of mine is the Northeast Service Manager. All the cars from NJ North are serviced at his facility.

Rj is my parents neighbor at his house in Illinois. I am from Bloomington and I am looking at employment there when I seperate from the Military next year. Cool brand, cool people. My brother has a R1T and he has loved it, back seats kind of suck though to be honest. I am 6'2" and my head hits the ceiling over every bump.
