Popular Post El Presidente Posted September 20, 2024 Popular Post Posted September 20, 2024 The largest tobacco show in the world. Apparently. The only reason I am here is to catch up with industry mates and to look for new accessories and new ideas. Dortmund isn't a rocking city. It has a great football team and ........a great football team. Fairs fair. I haven't done much research bar .....going from bar to bar..... so apologies in advance to Dortmund natives Good news is you can pretty much smoke a cigar anywhere. That is generally the highlight of a meal. Somehow, the dour nature of the city suits the zoo that is Intertabac pefectly. Itntertabak is industry and you have the full array of spivs, snake oil salesman, established legends, up and comers, dreamers, pretenders. There are cigars, pipe, pouches, cannabis, vape, shisha, and shit I still don't know where to insert/what to do with. Yesterday was day one and I have completed most of my objectives. Today I will take and post some photos for you. Come along to Dortmund Intertabak with me 6 1
El Presidente Posted September 20, 2024 Author Posted September 20, 2024 Good article from Charlie at Halfwheel. Set's the scene nicely September 19, 2024 Charlie Minato InterTabac 2024 InterTabac 2024: Day 0 Hallo from Dortmund, Germany. After a one year hiatus, I am back to cover InterTabac, a trade show that I’ve been covering for more than a decade. As has been well-documented before, this trade show has grown leaps and bounds and now draws a near-complete roster of non-Cuban cigar companies, a stark contrast to 2012, when many prominent brands had little to no presence. Puros Y Vino Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Great pics. Seeing tobacco products out in the open in bold, proud displays is like a trip back in time.
BrightonCorgi Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Looks like quite an event. Interesting to see how focused some cigar brands are to a particular consumer profile. Some presentations and logos are a total turn off to me yet someone else would say "I got to get a box of those!" And vice versa. The vendors really spent some money to be there and showcase their portfolios. 3

Very "Ed Hardy" looking. 😆 Sadly, Habanos has started down this path. I can't afford them nowadays anyway. So, no loss to me.

MrBirdman Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Would love to hear about your favorite booths, upcoming releases that have your eye, and the biggest cigar/accessory gimmick you see at the show. Hope you have a blast!
Glass Half Full Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Please don't start to like the "skull" branding fad for the BR/Nudies. 1

Mr. Japan Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 Great to catch up Prez., unfortunately no lunch but plenty of beer:-)
Lamboinee Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 @El Presidente Did you happen to visit the HR Robaina booth? Was there even an official HR booth? I saw HR listed in some of the intertabak program/literature and read HR himself might be making an appearance with a new non Cuban blend. I'm fascinated by the somewhat mysterious journey the HR brand has been on. I really enjoyed his initial release and was perplexed when his brand slowly seemed to evaporate from most of the market. I'm also curious how he's allowed to have a farm in Cuba and sell Non-Cuban cigars from his own brand.

He never actually "left" Cuba. The government knows its not all him running the show and that most likely he doesn't have any involvement in the day to day operations. He's just the face of the franchise getting his royalties. John 1

Years ago a girl I knew had a get rich quick scheme. Ordered 200 ed hardy shirts from China “ at a steal”. 😂 Happened to be there when the box arrived. She proudly opened the box, held one up and said “ What do you think?” I said one word. Karma. In bold letters on the bottom of every shirt were the words…. ” ED HARDLY”. 😂😂😂😂😂 Thanks for reminding me of that fiasco. And yes that put an end to her schemes. 👍 1 5
