MoeFOH
I could be wrong (happens a fair bit ), but I rarely see or hear much fanfare on the VR Famosos, and they happen to be a cigar I think often excels in its class. I'll always more than happily reach for one. What do you think? Vote & Discuss. Also, PM me your cigar/s that go under the radar and I'll add into a series of these. Or pop up your own post. rcarlson
Such a unique profile. Rich, balanced, chewy, decadent. Love 'em.
Glass Half Full
Love them with age -- and lots of it. Not my favorite vitola, but when it sings (as it can do with age) it can be a stunner.
garifo
We don’t want anyone else to buy them. Lol.

MrBirdman
I wish these flew a little more under the radar - not easy to come by lately. Fantastic sticks.

JohnS
I also love the VR Famosos with age. For me, that's when they really 'sing' for you!
Ford2112
Never had one. How do they compare to the Unicos?

Lighter bodied, but somehow richer. One of the cleanest purest tobacco flavours you can find in the CC portfolio. You do get milk chocolate and faint prune notes etc. but when smoking a Famoso, it's just nice not to focus on anything other than the flavour of the tobacco. 2

Smaller cigar, very similar flavors to my taste buds. That unique "dark prunes" flavor note for VR.
Jerryvonkramer
The one I had last night was a knockout: Currently I have this ahead of the JL2 and on par with RASS in Cuban Robusto stakes. It’s a great cigar.

How much age (years)? I have never smoked one and I bought a box from here earlier this year "ESM NOV 23" and I just put them in one of my coolidors and I have not touched them. Also, how do they compare to my beloved H. Upmann Connoisseur No. 1? (I think the Connie No. 1 smoke best with at least 5+ years of age on them.) GaryK 54
Love the VR Famosos flavour profile. Truly an 'under the radar' cigar. Unicos is also a great cigar. For those that haven't tried the Unicos, give it a go. I recall some years ago Rob referred to his first experience with the Unicos as...reminiscent of Cadbury's Fruit and Nut milk chocolate bar. I think he has perfectly captured the description of the VR flavour profile.

It's when you get a luscious tobacco, milk chocolate and prune/dates combination that you've 'hit the mark'. H.Upmann Connoisseur No.1? I would agree that these benefit from time down too. But they have a very different profile.
DeeBeezy
Hard for me to touch on what hasn’t already been said. These cigars are really THE hidden gem of Cuba (not so secret anymore). As above, they age beautifully- I don’t tend to smoke these under 4/5 years of age. In terms of its profile, I would say it’s most similar to a better rolled/more classy montecristo. However if someone asked me- show me an example of Cuban tobacco, This would be it- it is pure Cuban tobacco at its finest.
BigGuns Posted yesterday at 12:32 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:32 AM Great cigars. I wouldn’t say they fly under the radar, however, at least not around this lot. They seem to go as fast as they arrive on 24:
vvvendo1969 Posted yesterday at 12:56 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:56 AM Famosos is one of the greatest cigars in my opinion. Very complexed flavors of dark chocoate, leather, earth and honey, especially when Famosos is well aged, say at least three years. Famosos is similar to no other cigar. Very unique, I feel.
Bada_Bing_NJ
I forgot to ask what are the typical factory codes for this vitola? ESM,TSA,BRM? Whats the current $ on a box? Thanks 👍🏻
ha_banos
Small format!? It's practically a robusto! .. ok I suppose by today's standards it's small. For me smaller than a robusto/h.no.4 is small format. Still 30£ over here. This along with choix supreme I've always left until later to get a box, although I have enjoyed both well aged. So a very occasional cigar for me. Not had either for years now... Gets my vote though 👍🏼
Fireball
The most complete smoke I have had. For me, it has it all and has it in the perfect balance.
