Favorite bigger Habanos?

I am admittedly a fan of 50+ cigars, perhaps in part because I tend to smoke ‘em fast.  
I sold most my collection in the last few years, but would like to pick up a couple new boxes to fill the void.  My preferred violas are 50-56 RG and 5.5-6” length.  

Flavor likes: toast, brioche, graham, nuts, coffee, cream, and honey

Flavor dislikes: cayenne spice, floral, urinal cake, gates of Mordor or other acrid earthy notes…

I’ve generally liked the following: HdM San Juan & Epicure especial, RyJ Wide Churchill, Monte Double Edmundo, Cohiba Siglo VI & Genios, Partagas E2.  In smaller formats I’ve enjoyed Bolivar PC & Robusto, JL 1, HdM Epicure 1, RASS, Partagas D4.

What should I seek out in the current catalog of regular production CCs?

Just had an amazing Trinidad Esmeralda the other day. That’s one I really like. I think that would be right there in your wheelhouse.

If price is no object you can add the Trini La Trova. You’ve got most of the other top ones on your list already. Try the San Juan from tubos if you can find them - it’s the one cigar I’ll only buy tubed.

The H Upmann 56 (if you can find it) and the HdM Rio de Seco are both delicious and would be in your wheelhouse size wise. 

Bolivar Libertador and QD'O 54 and 52 would be things to hunt down as well.

This one I've had my eye on... How would you describe the flavor profile?  Also, does it have a smooth retrohale?

Boli Libertador. Rich, balanced, fantastic blend. One of the few CC's that actually feels like a genuine luxurious experience. 

I was a huge skeptic when they came out,  but they won me over with their quality.

I find most large ring gauge cigars have smooth retros, but everyone’s sensitivity is different (I’m probably not the best person to ask, I retrohale almost everything without bother). 

Flavor profile for me is primarily gingerbread, baking spices, a touch of almond. Quite distinct from the San Juan.

I had a few of these, and they were very nice. Do they still make them?

How do they QdO 52 and 54 compare? Similar blend?

@mwaller, I do like the HdM Le Hoyo de Rio Seco, but if there's one new release for you try, then I would definitely recommend sampling the Montecristo Wide Edmundo.

This sounds intriguing.  Is the profile similar to any others in the Edmundo line?

I generally stay away from 50+ but you really can't miss with any of the above.

Distinguidos or Salomones are both fantastic cigars. High class profile. Partagas Salomones is also great. R&J Cedros Deluxe, Bolivar Libertadores & Montecristo Double Edmundos should also be considered.

I'd put in a vote for the QDO 52. While I've only had one, the flavor was all buttered brioche. I love the size; honestly better than the 54. I went in on a box. 

I'd also just put in another vote for Party E2. Some truly brilliant smokes.

Big fan as well.  Why there were priced as low as they were for a long time is beyond me.
