What's up for the weekend!

Long weekend in the USA with Labor day in play. Let us know if you are getting away or maybe having a cookup at home. 

Work around the house this weekend as we prep for kitchen and floors to be ripped out in the coming weeks. Father's day Sunday with the entire clan should be fun. The last weekend on the wagon as well!

Working on Monday, so not really a Holiday weekend for me, but absolutely looking forward to a couple smokes (one being a JJ Fox house blend we brought back from London, the other a Partagas E2 I’ve been thinking about all week) and some couch time with my boy Cooper.

College Football on Saturday!  All day, all evening!  Holiday meal will be light.  BBQ yardbird, corn on the cob and some biscuits.  When you are retired every day is a holiday!

Why do you think that clump of trees in the 2nd photo along the river's edge are dying? Their roots should reach the river so probably not a water problem.

Caught up with my father and father-in-law for Father's Day (here in Australia it's celebrated annually on the first Sunday in September) and then had a few cigars and drinks with some of the FoH Sydney crew at night.

Just enjoying the weather and my RV bus, trying to do a little bbq, smoked some lovely cigars, and went to the county fair. The corn dogs did not last long enough for the picture!

The sea lions are here in record numbers, probably trying to escape the great whites which are in Monterey Bay in large numbers.

In the end it’s a water problem indeed. In that fluviatile cobble-heavy soil spruce is rooting very shallow. This fact, soil creep (dynamic undercut bank close by) and impact of wind will have worked the root plates loose, disrupting fine-roots-to-soil contact.

I saw something on the tube the other day regarding record # of sea lions showing up there...of course the Whites follow the food source, a little chicken or the egg thing going on in the area!

Bucket list course today. I was fortunate to get an invite to play Friar’s Head and the drive was totally worth it. Stunning property and top notch course. Even with so-so weather. 

I reciprocated bringing my dear Lusis, Trova and a couple of Bolivar Tubos from 01.

Orcas are a threat too. We have a resident pod that comes and feasts ,and Great Whites arent safe either!

Oh wow, very very awesome indeed! I’ve heard amazing things about this course, congrats!  

We are in a massive drought here in my neck of the Midwest, had a Farm Consultant tell me last week he has a client looking at maybe a 9 figure insurance claim...yes, LITERALLY 9 figures. 

As for golf, here’s the crappy Muni I play a lot—DED, DEAD—at least they are keeping the greens alive somehow. It’s baaaaadd— enjoy Labor Day here’s 100 yards of roll for you!  🙌
