MoeFOH Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 A simple question with a twist... At the top of their game, with all things being equal - i.e. a scenario divested of price, availability, and the likes - which one are you reaching for? So, purely a cigar experience based decision... but... To add a little more weight to the decision - picking one means you could never have the other again / for the first time. 😳 🤔 Elaborate on your call, if you so desire.
Popular Post loose_axle Posted August 20, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 20, 2024 This is a really tough one as I love both cigars. But Lusi for me, and that's just cause I prefer the size. Flavours on both are different but equally divine. 6
Popular Post Chibearsv Posted August 21, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 21, 2024 No brainer for me. I’d trade every Lusi I have for Fundis all day. 8
Greenhorn2 Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Fundy. I like the size and blend. Lusis are good and a better bang for the buck than the Fundadores, but when they're on, Fundadores. 1
Boxer31 Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Only had 2 fundies (on vac/work about 12 yrs ago) and nothing special. But also this was not my preferred format back then. Lusi on the other hand, I have always loved them. So Lusi for me. 1
GaryK 54 Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 No brainer for me... Fundy hands down. Love the vitola and the blend. If, by choosing Fundadores I had to give up Lusitania forever, I would be perfectly happy with my beloved PSD4 as a replacement! 😀 1
cnov Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Having only had a fundy... I've a Lusi single but I'll be leaving it a couple of years before trying. Gutted I didn't take the plunge and buy a £750 50 cab I saw available a few years ago. 1
BrightonCorgi Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Lusitania provides an additional 20-30 minutes of smoking pleasure. 3
RDB Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Fundy. Because there are other great Partagas cigars sufficiently similar to the Lusi, but nothing else like the Fundy. 1
zeedubbya Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 I’m not giving up ANY DC for any Lanceros (Maybe I would give up Hoyo DC for CoLa, least fave DC vs favorite Lanceros.) BUT….Am I wrong in that the price diff is dramatic here? Aren’t Lusis like 1/3 the cost now? No brainer. Fundadores is pretty meh-have smoked about 5-6, all pretty meh (personal opinion)…have smoked high 100s, maybe over 1000 Lusis. Would say I’ve already written of the Fundy prior to this poll. 4
Chas.Alpha Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Every Fundy I’ve ever had has been divine. That said, Lusi is my favorite Cuban cigar. If I can only ever have one or the other, you choose. Surprise me! 2 1
Shakey Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Fundys are great, and I love the size, but I'm on team Lusi for this one. If the prices were the same I might flip the other way. 2
benfica_77 Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Both are great but I'm picking the fundy out of my humidor over the Lusi. That's how I chose. 1
cigaraholic Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 A great Fundy is a joke compared to a great Lusi. Do you want a 4 speed or 6 speed Ferrari? 4
Glass Half Full Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 Just enjoyed a Lusi as a result of this post. (I'd been putting off pulling from this box as I'd been wanting more age on them.) It was an ETP May 2017. Very pleasant, mild, enjoyable; 3/3rds; perfect construction, but unremarkable for special CCs IMO. My take-away was that it needed a 5 more years, as first 3rd was good and the 3rd/3rd was excellent. Nonetheless, the comparison seems to be "apples and oranges" to me. (Dalias vs DC after all.) Yet, with my (granted, very limited) Lusi experiences, I'd take an equally aged (perfectly kept) Fundi any day. Looking at others's comments, perhaps it's a consistency issue. Who knows? But every Fundi I've ever had has reinforced why I enjoy CCs. This Parti Lusi was very, very good but not stellar. Price on the other hand is a good consideration. Trinis are absurdly priced now. 1
Uwiik Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Absolutely Lusitania for me. Fundy is awesome, but I find myself giggling in extreme satisfaction every time I light up a proper Lusi and the same doesn't happen when I light up a Fundy. Coincidentally, I am smoking a 2016 Fundy right now as I am typing this. If I am forced to pick one cigar it will be Lusitania. Long Live The Lusi!!!! 4
Popular Post Ford2112 Posted August 24, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 24, 2024 I like 'em both. I'm buying a Lusi over a Trini though. 5

I wish I would have grabbed every box of Fundadores @$700 but here I am, smoking on this Reyes instead.😂 1
Marco_011t556 Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 Lusi for sure...coz Fundy sometimes is plugged lol.

This is after I pulled 3 long stems from it. Thought it was so plugged I would have to trash it. Broke out the hemostats, pulled the 3 stems and no way in hell would I have traded/sold/trashed or otherwise gotten rid of it. 100 pts all smoke long. 1
