Completely unfamiliar with this cigar, I love the format! How does it age? I've been offered a box from 2015.

What Montecristo does it compare to it flavour profile? Especially with age.

These are among the better aging Montes, but I personally don’t think they benefit much beyond 5-6 years and so wouldn’t pay a premium beyond that.

If the price and provenance is right, don’t hesitate.

They age very well in my book. The very Montecristo I smoke more of than any other, with exception of the No. 5 perhaps. Different boxes/years. What I like about them is their format and a particular way of smoking coming with that. You are more “sipping” than with most and in particular the new formats (Edmundos…). And – some might disagree – I do like that they are less chocolaty and more complex than the rest of the range (usually finding almonds, nuts, vanilla, noble woods, even some “butteriness” on occasion, coffee bean towards the final). Together with the Especial a true standout within the marca.

That being said, I agree with Birdman - they are also good to be enjoyed fresh/young, and current production is top. Therefore, carefully check the price and compare with current offerings (if you can get them, but supply seems having improved lately)
