Sandman Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 Had a fresh QDO corona recently. I have to say it was quite tasty, but I wouldn’t put it in the super premium category at all. Not complex enough. Was surprised by the strength that it showed though. Good stick, overall.
ha_banos Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 I didn't realise the two 2024 releases both have foot bands too. No more a rumour then, they are on their way... That's the travel humidor and Especial 50th. Perfect timing.
unaslob Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 I have a whole shelf in my mon2800 dedicated to boxes of QD marcas. Plus some boxes infiltrating another shelf. But invest I must! They have been aging well.

The Especial D'Orsay is a high end box of 20 in the same category as the Partagas Aliados, La Gloria Glorias, Juan Lopez Seleccion Especial etc, so definitely would expect a $700+ price-point on those. The travel humidor is a travel humidor which all seem to be about $1000 these days. They are both specialty items though, so their pricing is not indicative of a price rise in the line in general. Although I'm not saying that a general price rise isn't going to happen, but personally I haven't heard anything concrete about it if so. 2 1

ha_banos Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 Hopefully that's the case, release 'speciality' lines. Leave us alone. They do seem to be doing this across the brands.
EasternPromises Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 I’ve just spent the last two weeks in Portgual, Spain and Andorra including visits to various stores across Lisbon, Seville, Granada, Barcelona and Andorra La Vella. The only store where I saw any QdO was at one shop in Andorra (the one everyone goes to) where they only had loose singles of QDO CC in stock, and where purchases were limited to 2 sticks per person. If I were one to speculate, I would say the folks in Europe have already received the memo and are loading up on QdO.

I really don't think it is the case, it's just that they are nowhere to be seen in the first place. Supplies in France, Spain and Andorra seem to be at an all-time low, maybe lower than in 2022 🥲 1
EasternPromises Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 The shop owners in Spain were telling me there's no stock in the country (other than Cohiba and Trinidad which no one is buying) and that the shelves are apparently also bare in Cuba.

ChanceSchmerr Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 Personally, I was never impressed with the 50s/54s, nor the recent REs. The Best of QdO was always the Coronas, Panetelas and Grand Coronas. I guess I'll just ration the remaining stock I have of those three, because any premiumization of QdO takes the prospect of buying any more Coronas pretty much off the table. But I will look in Germany next week when I'm there....just in case. Oh well! 1
