Popular Post GVan Posted July 22, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 22, 2024 My Trinity's just reached 135 days in the Humi! I tried one just past 60 days and it was ok, flavors were somewhat muted and the last half was still a little wet requiring a few relights. It was a good cigar and I knew it would evolve into a better cigar. So, I thought I'd try something that I have never done with any of my CC's. It turns out I have a box of Juan Lopez #1's that was getting low in the Humi. I took 5 of the Trinitys, punched the cap with my favorite sized hole punch (reserved for Robustos), and stored them with the JL1's and decided to forget about them for a while. I took one out last night on a warm, humid Florida evening -- I'll admit I was thinking that perhaps I'd have trouble with relights in the last half of the cigar due to the high ambient humidity. Much to my surprise, burned absolutely perfect, no relights and what a cigar!!!! JL1's are one of my favorite cigars and perhaps some of that greatness has rubbed off on the Trinity. More than likely. they are just benefiting from some great storage conditions provided by the JL1 box. I don't think that any of that great JL1 flavor could infuse a MOFOH in just 75 days but who knows .... The Trinity has definitely benefited from the additional time down. A vastly different cigar than the first one at 60 days. This was smooth, smooth, smooth. I remember thinking that the first one had a Boli-like strong leather on the palate in the first half. This one had just a touch of leather throughout with croissant, cream and honey as the predominant flavors. Not as sweet as my Amante IV's from June 2023 and not as much leather as my Spada Gordas from September 2023. Not sure if this is what the MOFOH panel, @El Presidente and Hamlet intended with their blending but it seemed to me as a perfect "tweener", between those two cigars. I nubbed it - and was enjoying it so much I did not take any pictures (sorry). A solid 93 to 94 point cigar that will have me reaching for it ahead of some of my CC's. When I first started buying NC's again, it was a "change of pace cigar" to give my CC's time to age. The vast majority of my CC collection is now 5 to 6 years old and the majority are listed as "Ready to Smoke" in my cigar spreadsheet. The Desnudo and MOFOH line-up are all in my regular rotation. I just bought 50 of the Fat-Fundy's that arrived on June 26th - supported by my Trinity tasting experience I won't be touching one of them for ~ 120 days. Really looking forward to that new size in the MOFOH line-up! It was probably helpful to my palate that it was my second cigar in about two weeks. I could really enjoy the subtleties of the Trinity. Been pretty busy lately, just moved Dad into an Assisted Living Facility -- he wasn't eating. Also, been playing a lot of summer golf while nursing a tooth infection. Probably a good idea not to smoke until that was healed. I can't wait to share the Trinity with my cigar-smoking golfing buddies! You can guess that I'm noted for being pretty generous with sharing great cigars -- as well as my wife says -- dressing outlandishly for golf! The above is from a recent guy's golfing trip at Lake of the Ozark's! 12
El Presidente Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Excellent review. I am glad you enjoyed it! 1

They had a lot of rain and all three courses had a rough > 3". Long rough and big elevation changes made it fun, but tough.

I have some friends that have lake homes down there and they have played those courses. 1
