El Presidente Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 It must be a difficult time to be drinking the Tabacuba koolaide Extreme poverty in Cuba rose to 89 percent 17 July 2024 20:44 (UTC+04:00) By Alimat Aliyeva Five months after the start of the economic package, the level of extreme poverty in Cuba increased to 89 percent, Azernews reports. According to the Cuban Observatory for Human Rights (OCDH), 19 percent of the population survive with less than 5 euros per month, 33 percent - less than 15 euros, 19 percent – less than 30 euros. Only 3 percent of the respondents earn more than 195 euros per month. The State of Social Rights in Cuba report notes that these figures reflect the situation of poverty, shortages of food and medicine, and unreliability of basic public services, which millions of Cuban families believe are suppressing them. Lack of confidence in the future is at the heart of the observed growing migration flow. 1 4
Jaks93 Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 It's so disheartening to see the country being strangled into complete oblivion 🙁
JohnnyO Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 Alimat forgot water is every other day for some, every four days for others and in Centro Havana (a stones throw from Partagas factory) they haven't had water for 6 weeks. Forget the countryside. The neighborhood has it brought in by tanker and have to pay for it ($40). A few years back households were obligated to let in the government mosquito sprayer. Many didn't trust the guy as they felt he might be reporting on any unusual activities or conversations. Now they don't spray for mosquitoes, in some areas fly's are 1000 per square inch. The CUP is going down again, its at 305:1 today. The excuse for the water and the bugs is they don't have "petroleo" or barrels of oil from Venezuela. It's more profitable to refine it and sell it to neighboring Caribbean countries. But the Crystal on tap at Pizza Nela on 33 y 42 gets a 98.4%. John 1 1
