When you see some of these old ads from the 50's, you wonder what could have been.

What could have been.... with proper governance it could have been a thriving, productive paradise on arguably the most fertile and beautiful island in the Caribean.

10 years ago, I spent 18 days on the Island and drove all over, from the PDR to Trinidad, and we saw one single piece of powered equipment, a backhoe.

It was actually remarkable after passing dozens of Oxen dragging plows. A workers paradise indeed.

One day it will once again be a paradise. Tragedy that it has been and will be so long before that happens.
