Popular Post Mr. Japan
I was in London for the HWD and launch of Trinidad 55 Cabildos, the most interesting part for me was the seminar where we heard that soon Habanos will come out with a super vintage (or grand vintage)... Just bullshitting marketing where they want to sell to young smoker a 5, lucky a 10 years old cigar and call it vintage overcharging it. My personal classification for Cuban cigars is My Classification of Havana cigars Baby directly from the roller Fresh < 1 year Young 1 - 3 years Mature >3 to 10 Aged >10-20 Vintage >20 over Historical >30 over Monumental > 50 Nothing below 20 can be called vintage . just my 0.2 cents.
Puros Y Vino
For many years, you could grab old/aged boxes in Havana and NOT pay any premium for it. If anything, they seemed to be glad they sold. Perhaps, the shopkeepers had a different perspective. Boxes with older codes that sat, were deemed to be sales duds perhaps? It looks like the days of finding vintage at list price is over. 😐 I like that list. I'd suggest that "Historical" should be 100+ years. Cigars that old almost seem like a crime to smoke. Maybe just preserve as a relic?
Sandman
Agreed. Myself I’d take a fresh Habanos over anything labeled “aged 10 years” from Habanos.
Arabian
According to Ana Lopez from Hunters & Frankau,10 years and over is considered Vintage.

RDB
Yeah my instinctive, wholly subjective opinion would be 20+ is ‘vintage’ for cigars.
mohammed.s.almutlaq11
If I had to choose between 2 boxes, one is fresh and the other is 5 years old, I would choose the fresh box because I start buying more than one box 3 years ago and I never finished any box. Plus, I didn’t like my cigars when they have 4+years on them.
Popular Post Chas.Alpha
“Vintage” holds the same place in my heart as does “Aficionado.” I have a vintage 2003 GMC Sierra with 320,000 on it! I love this POS and have babied her since I bought it. $72,500 It’s “Vintage…” 🙄 1
