Popular Post Pmo13 Posted July 7, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 7, 2024 Full disclosure, these have only been in my humidor since the 26th, but I couldn’t hold off any longer before trying one. Pre-light the roll felt a bit solid, but as soon as I draw tested it my mind was put at ease. Perfect amount of resistance. Right at light up I was hit with a big spiced cocoa note, reminiscent of a Mexican hot chocolate. I didn’t have a pairing ready for this but I can only imagine that an actual cocoa or cream soda would be phenomenal with this stick, but I digress. Burning down through the first and middle thirds, this stone stayed pretty present and was joined with both a light cedar, and a sort of bready sourdough note. Somewhere between the second and final thirds this bread note morphed into/was replaced by a big dark roast coffee which together with the cocoa note from before became kind of mocha-esque. This is an impeccable dessert/sweet tooth cigar in my opinion. Towards the final third it also picked up a bit of tootsie roll sweetness which I always love in a stick. These flavors stayed pretty consistent for the rest of the burn which was razor sharp. I’m not sure how much, if any DNA this stick shares with the Trinity Robusto, but if it doesn’t, my mind was definitely playing tricks on me. You could tell me those blends share half their composition (in the best way) and I’d believe you. Kudos to EP and Hamlet, you magnificent gents have done it again. STRONG B+ on this stick, and having been given next to no rest, I’d have to think it’s a shoo-in for an A/A+ all day long with some age. 9
