Popular Post Tdm_86 Posted June 9, 2024 Popular Post Posted June 9, 2024 It’s been a while since I’ve posted a review, so I figured I’d sit down and smoke something I’ve been wanting to revisit. I used to smoke these quite frequently about 15 years ago, because of their convenient size when you’re out and about. I had this newer box sitting in my humidor for about a year and a half and quite frankly forgot I had them. Pre-light A dark, evenly colored wrapper. Uniformly packed. I used a small punch cut, the draw is very loose for such a tiny cigar. Smells good, toasted tobacco and honey on the wrapper. First half It starts off with what I smelled on the wrapper, sweet honeyed tobacco. Once it gets going and I retrohale a little more, there is a very faint black tea note on the finish. This something I don’t often get in a cigar, but seem to always find in this one. Because it’s such a small little thing, after about 15 minutes I’m already approaching the halfway point. Second half As you can see, the burn is very consistent. The flavor profile keeps to the sweet side and is amazingly complex for something in such a small package. Still honeyed, but now more like salted and honeyed nuts with a BIG black tea note on the finish. Once I take the band off and smoke some more, the nuttiness intensifies and the retrohale brings raisin notes. Never really got too hot, so I nubbed it till I couldn’t really hold it anymore. Conclusion Just like I remember, an extremely complex cigar in a micro-package. It offers a whole lot, just not for a very long time. It behaved perfectly and I enjoyed every second of it. Smoked it in just under 30 mins. 94/100 8
Li Bai Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 A really nice little smoke indeed but way too expensive now imo, unfortunately. 2

Habanoschris Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 I have a box of these aging, hoping they will mature well. I have sampled a couple and so far I prefer Hoyo du Maire over these. Agree, it's sad these will likely hit $250 a box or more. 1

Very sad indeed, many cigars aren’t worth their price of admission anymore. 1

Being that it’s a luxury and not a necessity I’d say that objectively none of them have ever been worth the money. But what’s life without pleasure? Buy what you like within your budget and you can never go wrong. 1

Just too short really. Basically end up chain smoking them. 2
Habanoschris Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Good to know ~ thanks. I've heard good things overall. I avoided these for years due to the size but i really enjoy the Hoyo du Maire (same format) & so looking forward to seeing these evolve. 1
