It's a little way back we are well  into June. I smoked some amazing stuff. Rob's 109, some future offerings some Cuban classics all shared with friends. It was a great month for smoking cigars. Post up your best cigars from May and even into early June.

Toss up between this Fundie and the 898. The 898 may have the slight edge of atmosphere and setting as well as being a banger, the Fundy was slightly the better smoke. Both upper echelon stogies.

I smoked a lot in May because it rained in the U.K. for about 11 months straight beforehand. 

My top cigar was a Fonseca Cosacos which I smoked in the morning with my brother. We both agreed it was a straight 95. Fonseca is possibly the most underrated marca. It is a specialist in lighter smooth smokes but if it hits right especially in the morning it can be heaven. To me the toasted tobacco, tea notes and light marshmallow sweetness are like the essence of good cigar tobacco. Fonseca has achieved the notion of a morning cigar in platonic form. It’s a thing of glory.

Dusted off a few cobwebs. A little mold . Actually very surprised,  I never gave them much hope from the onset (2013) as I found them to be very average and bland .  Hard to describe,  almost like sweetcorn with a little sprinkle of almonds.  Very unique cigar at this stage . Construction and burn A+. A nice surprise

Juan Lopez Seleccion Number 1. By far, the most pleasant smoke I had in May. Surprised they smoked so well so young. Received them on 5/15 and smoked them on 5/26. The first two-thirds were pretty good and then BANG!, out of nowhere, the sweet, decadent flavors of the third third arrested me like I'd broken the law several times over! With every puff, I kept looking at the cigar in positive disbelief like "How could so much goodness come from this small thing!?"

I think disbelief is such a great word to use when describing a very good Cuban cigar. To me there's definitely an element of shock or marvel at the delicious complexity of tastes. I've even laughed out loud at times  🤣

Agreed. Yes, this. I too have chuckled to myself many of times at their surprise complexity.

Agreed 23 Galanes on top of the Xikar box . Great cigar ordered a few more yesterday.

Absolutely. I am a monte ho as well. And yes good regular production Cubans is what I mostly smoke. May was indeed a special month however.

If you still have these on-hand, then I recommend that you smoke one as these 2016 Trinidad Topes LEs just keep getting better as they age. I was 'under-the weather' during May, and so I didn't smoke anywhere near as much as I normally would, but this cigar was by far the standout.

I believe they were available via 24:24 purchases, and in the old FoH store (perhaps) in the past. I wouldn't know if they're available now. You can see how old mine is, in that image above, from the patina that had developed on the stand over years of use.

Was looking at mine yesterday thinking should I? Will do over the next few days
