Trinidad Fundadores RAG June 2018 (FFSJun24)

Picked up a pair of Fundies a few years back in Aruba and decided today was the day to pull the trigger on one. Box date was June 2018 so almost exactly 6 years on this bad boy. What a treat it was too! Felt a little firm in the hand and the dry draw was a bit tight, but after light up it turned out to be perfect in every respect, including a razor sharp burn.

Started out with a bit of really sweet tobacco, some leather and toast (which was interesting as I usually get that note at the end of CCs.) second and final thirds transitioned into cinnamon, cocoa and some caramel which was an awesome with the Dr Pepper I paired with it. Gonna hold out on the last one as there’s no way in hell I can afford replacements, let alone any with half a decade+ of age on them.

Solid 93-94 on this stick.

 

Another thing I feel I should mention. Having not had too many Trinidad’s in the past, and not particularly liking my Reyes’, my frame of reference for the MOFOH Trinity Robustos was limited. I’ve loved everyone I smoked, but had never known what it was gunning for. After smoking this Fundy today I have to say, Hamlet and EP et al really nailed it. Not a 100% dead ringer, as I’m sure the format comes into play a bit, but at about the halfway point the light went on for me, and it shone brightly. Just incredibly done team, I will now be stocking up to the gills as soon as clear a bit of room!
