HABANOS LAUNCH EVENT IN TORONTO

May 29, 2024 - Kurt Bradley

On the evening of May 14th, 2024, Habanos specialist The Smokin’ Cigar Inc. in association with official Habanos distributor Havana House Cigar and Tobacco Merchants Ltd. unveiled the Vegueros Centrogordos, a new 4 x 54 vitola to the Canadian market. The launch event was held at the iconic National Club in Toronto. Celebrating its 150th anniversary, the National Club is situated on Bay Street in the heart of Toronto’s Financial District.

Special guests included Cuban Ambassador Rodrigo Malmierca, Toronto General Consul Jorge Yanier Castellanos Orta, as well as ‘Team Caballeros’ who are champions of the 2024 International Habanos World Challenge (Philip Ramos, Aaron Ignacio, and coach Francisco Rojas, Master in Habanos). Participants were greeted with a selection of Habanos cigars and an authentic Cuba Libre cocktail made with Legendario rum prior savoring the Cuban spirit on its own with their cigars.

The event was conducted under the new ‘Un Habano Neuva’ concept designed for local launches of Habanos. For the first week of its Canadian release, the Vegueros Centrogordos was available exclusively at The Smokin’ Cigar, which, under direction of business owner Trae Zammit, has been providing Habanos products to consumers in Toronto since 1997.
