moneyneversleeps Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Just recently bought a cabinet and looking for aging recommendations - are they good young or should I age for a few years? Thank you!
NSXCIGAR Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Should be good to go at 1 year. I'd expect Epi 2 to peak at around 5 years. 2
BrightonCorgi Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Only you can decide when they are good. I'd age them as long as you can. 10+ years from now, Habanos may not even offer 50 cabs for all we know. 2
Edicion Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 If you're buying to smoke, they are very good now fresh, maybe 3-12 months rest but for sure you don't need to wait 10 years or longer. 2
Jimmy2 Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Make your own decision try one young and if you like keep smoking ! Enjoy If you want to age some ! Try that too.. Smoke in a year to five year period to see the flavor profile difference each year . My thoughts : A lot of CC 20/23 cigars have been excellent with very little age ! I am so amazed I think more age will not make a giant difference as in years past with certain brand. I like the trend... 3
Jerryvonkramer Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 The 23 box codes I’ve bought from our host have all been excellent ROTT across quite a few marcas. No harshness or the rough edges of youth on any of them including Mag 46. 2 1
bmac Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 I have a 50 cab from 2019 and they seem to be smoking well and construction has been excellent.I’ve had issues with construction on the 25 SLB and shy away from those especially after price increases.I’d say Epi 2 is not a long term aging cigar.5 years peak 1
Sandman Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 Smoke great no matter the age. I’ve smoked 20 year old Epi #2’s and they are top notch. 4
Nocoins Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 My favorite box of Epi 2 was a BRS 12 SLB that I smoked through between 2020-2023. To my taste, they were far more creamy, sweet, and delicious than young Epi 2. I hope it was the age -- I'm letting a 2023 box go that distance now in the hopes it was. 2
Popular Post Fugu Posted May 21, 2024 Popular Post Posted May 21, 2024 Always a crapshoot to project into the future, as you only truly know at hindsight what you got. But in the past, Epi2 is on record for having proven to have an exceptional aging potential. And then, a different experience for sure. For current production (2020-23) I have the feeling that this might not have changed. That said, it’s an enjoyable young cigar. 7
