Popular Post BrightonCorgi
Elys and I stopped by Cielo Farms to sample wines and enjoy the late afternoon. This is the first CA vineyard I have ever been to. They weren't so friendly and everything was strictly business. That being said, the views were epic and wines were solid. We started off with a flight of their flagship wines to figure out what we'd actually want to drink. Their rose and petite sirah were they're best wines, but I did not want to do a bottle of rose, so it was syrah and petite sirah. The syrah had like 16% alcohol, but didn't taste like it. Both were restrained in style and quite enjoyable. The charcuterie plate was well done. The location of the vineyard is what attracted us to stop by. I'd buy the petite sirah (which I think is one of CA's best grown grapes) if it were sold locally. 4
