Selection of Cubans in the Dominican Republic

A friend is in the DR and has sent me the following pics. The plastic bags and what looks to be a glass top in the back of the Cohiba boxes are pretty alarming. Thoughts on the Cohiba selection?

My experience (limited) with the DR is that there's plenty of shady business practices there.  It's quaint in a way.  I don't think that I could be convinced that any cigar for sale on that island was a genuine CC.
