Well Giants will take first two games sending KC to 6th straight loss!

It would have been nice if the Giants were above .500 for any given stretch this year.

The season is a long one, full of peaks and troughs (or valleys). Let's see where the Red Sox are around the mid-point...which is traditionally around the All-Star Game in July. I'm excited for T

There's been some amazing Postseason baseball so far. Look forward to all the games tomorrow!

Here's to hoping he's ok to play. The series will be significantly poorer if he doesn't. As will the Dodger's LH offence taking aim at the short porch in right at Yankee stadium. Although Freeman is d

@MrBirdman, I wonder if the recent two home-and-away series between the Phillies and the Mets showcased two of the current in-form teams in Baseball? (One could argue that there's a few others, for sure!) We'll see how it all pans out soon in the post-season.

The Mets appear to be in better form than the Phillies! Phils certainly aren’t a shambles but their starting pitching lately has been iffy and their sluggers uneven - Harper has a wrist injury that seems to have robbed him of power and apparently won’t heal.

MLB playoffs are all about who has the hot hand. They might finish with the best record in baseball but I feel worse about the Phils heading into October than either of the past two years when they were wildcards.

As you say though - time will tell.

I am rooting for Baltimore to win it all but that's  a stretch. The Yankees vs the Dodgers in the World Series would be epic though.

LA Dodgers vs NY Yankees. Yes, well it's been a little over 40 years since we've had that. It would recall the multiple Dodgers/Yankees World Series in the 40s and 50s when the Dodgers were in Brooklyn so yeah...I understand the sentimentality.

Not that I’m a fan of any Chicago baseball, but the White Sox are about to set an all time record. 🤢

The 1962 Mets were 40-120. The 2024 White Sox are currently 38-120 with 4 games to go in the regular season.

Tomorrow’s doubleheader should be interesting - I think both teams will get in because the G1 winner will presumably play none of their starters in G2. We’ll see!

Exactly. If you win Game 1, where's the incentive to go for a sweep when you have knockout games to prepare for in the Postseason?

It's just the way things have turned out, I suppose.

@JohnS...did u catch the first game? It was a wild one!

Unfortunately no, as it began at 3 am my time but I will definitely watch the highlights. @MrBirdman and I chatted about this doubleheader yesterday on FoH ZOOM. With the postseason on the line, both teams went hard in Game 1, with the winner resting key players in Game 2. It's hard to see anything but a 1-1 split and both the Mets (which they've now done) and Braves advancing to the Postseason.

Great game today, both teams deserved to make the postseason. Looks like you’ll be able to follow Game 1 if you get up early - starts at 5:30pm NY.

I only found out after Eduardo Perez was struggling in his composure reporting on Game 2 of the Mets/Braves doubleheader today and shared the news.

There's so much to say, and I may add more later, but in a nutshell his feats will be unmatched. No-one is going to come along and play the way his did and play until their mid-forties and collect over 4200 hits. Then again, it remains a great shame that he didn't respect the history of the game and learn from what happened from the 1919 World Series. The Chicago White Sox deliberately brought the game into disrepute due to gambling and the players received life bans. I would only argue against 'Shoeless' Joe Jackson's ban. I wouldn't argue against 'Charlie Hustle's'.

I think if you’re gonna give steroid users and domestic abusers a chance to get in, gambling on baseball should be no different. If the HOF rejects him, so be it, but I think he deserves a shot. The lifetime ban (which is a bit of a misnomer since it continues after he’s dead!) prevents that, or rather the HOF’s stupid rule is (that they will not even consider those players until the ban is lifted).

And seriously Shoeless Joe has been dead since before most people here were born. He spent his life after baseball publicly disgraced and with little money. Time to forgive him. And what he and the other players did was worse than Rose, in my opinion. Rose just also happens to be a jerk - but I do think he belongs in the Hall of Fame. Good guy? No. But he’s one of the greatest ball players ever.
