If you are interested in talking about the FDA appeal from a legal perspective (including Chevron, for the few months it remains) let me know. The FDA’s appeal could be more about precedent about rule vacation under the APA than the matter of premium cigars themselves (as you note, flavored tobacco is their big target). That’s a guess though, and the FDA may just recognize that they won’t have better evidence for another rule making cycle than they have now. 3 1
RKPStogie Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 Thanks for the share. This was great and I will tune in more often. I hadn't heard of developing palates before but had followed Cigar Coop back in the Dogwatch days. 1
Cigar Surgeon Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 Developing Palates kiss of death https://cigar-coop.com/2024/02/gurkha-suspends-coleccion-especial-line-cigar-news.html Quote “We’ve decided to put a pause of the release of this year’s production for Colección Especial,” says Jim Colucci, President of Gurkha Cigar Group, in a press release. “The cigar is fantastic largely in part to the flavor of it’s hybrid Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. With the popularity it has gained across the world, we’re having a hard time securing enough viable wrapper to sustain the demand, as many of the crops were not able to fully cultivate this past year. We expect to be back at full swing of production in the coming years, but for now we’re pausing the brand for about 3-6 months.” 1
