My point was, that often if it's something that's pissing you off, it's actually your own side serving it up to you over and over, not those you deem to be the opposition.

This is the point - it’s cable and tabloid news whose business model is addicting people to outrage. It’s really that simple, and it’s frighteningly effective. Saying that all news is the enemy of the people ignores that there is still a distinction between journalism and the outrage press. Journalism is essential for democracy, and the death of local papers has created a stunning lack of accountability for the many county/municipal/even state governments they used to cover.

We only have 10 years to save the planet.  We are reminded about this constantly.  If you do nothing, you are part of the problem

To be fair. I think the people that said this, had said it on the basis, not on the worlds immediate implosion, but rather the point of impossible correction. From what I can see, they have not wavered from that estimation. They said we were going to f*** up, now they are saying we have f***ed up!

No it's not...It's the F'wit who glued himself to the middle of the road,  he is right there...I can see him. It isn't the right wing media monster living under the bed...it's that guy, 200 metres away...causing a 2 hour delay.

Rob, I've already conceded to you on the point of public disruption (including from myself), and that there is universal disapproval of this action. Within the post you quoted I'm talking about BLM and in some part Antifa. I.e. Fox making it appear as a huge world ending issue. Whereas in actual fact it's a handful of nut jobs. There is always a boogie man to be afraid of. You could say the same thing of bullshit left wing media like the Guardian. I.e. there is always some mean wall street type trying to f••k you over.

God forbid, Fox or Guardian or CNN take the low road ;)

Assume a Newspaper investigative reporter is on $80K a year and can pump out two articles a week. That is $40,000 an article. The NYT has lost $40 million USD in the past year and 70,000 subscribers. They are pretty much all in the same boat. Their traditional model no longer works as  people have changed the way in which they absorb media. No big news there. So, I have several $40,000 per article investigative journalists on staff. How do I keep the wheels turning in the current world?  You specialise. You don't become and "everyman" news agency but a specialist with an agenda and a target market. The Guardian does this very well and hence why they hit 1,000,000 subscribers last year.

You want to enrage to engage.

Take Trans Sports. How big is the issue really? How many people really care?

Not the point. Navratilova being pitched as a traitor by the left media and as a champion of women by the right ........is just priceless.

Enrage to engage. It is a proven money making strategy.

Stefan...one if the funny things about this...never covered in The Guardian...is who cleaned it up?

I assume it wasn't the gallery director or curator. Someone on minimum gallery wage doing the best they can not needing to put up with this crap? The painting is well protected. The shit on the floor, wall?

They couldn't give a rats arse.

not that i wish to defend the guardian but in fairness, i doubt any publication covered the role of the cleaners. nor do they cover who cleans up after a car accident or a fire. if there is a mass shooting, have you ever read about who has to clean up the blood?

all that said, i would take these muppets and jail them for as long as permitted. not just because they deserve it but when they finally realise they can do nothing while stuck in prison, and that no one cares that they are in prison, they might try something different in future.

how does destroying art do anything for their cause other than rally opposition? morons. guillotine still in use in France? time to oil it up.

No, that's approx $770 per article. You're lucky Artie is your accountant! :P

Targeting the wrong people, the same as the sitting in roads or blocking rush hour traffic etc. you're trying to bully the people who you want on your side, we've spent 30 years telling people not to let bullies win!

If all the traffic blockers etc glued themselves to the seats of power, eg Houses of Parliament and stopped MPs getting to work you'd have 90% of the public on side.
