Gubbins
Hi all, I’m taking a trip to Spain soon and I’ve been looking through what I believe to be their government price list that I downloaded in pdf form online. Just wondering if anyone can help me understand it a little better. I’ve used translate but I’m still a bit confused. Firstly, some of the cigars are listed as 25 or 25CM. Does that refer to it being a dress box vs a cabinet, and if so, which is which? Secondly; it looks like they are priced singly in line with amount per box, however there are still two separate prices. Maybe one is price singly if you buy as a box and one if you just buy a single stick. I could be wrong… So yeah, I’m a bit stumped. If anyone can clear all this up for me a touch, I would very much appreciate it. I have added a picture for reference. Thanks again, in advance. Chris P.S I’m assuming CM, actually stands for Comisionado Mercado, which is I’m assuming is the Spanish gov prices in fact. But if they are priced the same throughout Spain, what are the ones with out CM? Are two different provinces or something? Again, any help would be appreciated. Perla
The first figure row is the official price for the estanco (cigar shop). The second row is if you buy cigars in a lounge/ restaurant/bar. That’s what I have been told/ explained. 2

Gubbins
Thank you so much for your response. Is that in reference to the two separate columns? Any idea what the CM means? Thanks again

The CM (in the Marca column after some cigar entries) stands for Cueta and Melilla. Two Spanish enclaves in north Africa. Taxes on tobacco are lower there thus the lower prices, though they don't have the breadth of range found on the mainland. Hard to get to also, without a boat.

BrightonCorgi
All you need to do is a find a place that has Habanos for sale. I was in Barcelona last March and it was barren. I always bring cigars, but wanted to buy a memento box.

Gubbins
One final questions if anyone can answer... The far right column, which someone mentioned was effectively the 'cigar lounge price' Does this mean that the singles from LCDH are also this price, or is that specifically for actual lounge/bars? Thanks again, I'm off on Wednesday.

Here in Barcelona you can find standard production like RASS, JL 1 & 2, Upmann 46 & 54, some Partagas and Montes again at every Estanco. But I’m still struggling with the PL Leones, only found two boxes so far since release. Apparently a lot of them gets siphoned off directly by many Estanco owners and sent overseas.

Thanks again, I'm off on Wednesday. There are no Casas in mainland Spain, only Estancos/tobacco shops. Here in Barcelona I only know of one place that officially allows indoor smoking, the jazz bar at Hotel El Palace. Not sure what they charge for cigars though, I haven’t been yet as I prefer to smoke outdoors on one of the many squares and watch life go by. Been to a few members only places and hidden back rooms in bars that allow indoor smoking if you or one of your mates know the owner. But they never sold cigars.

So the column on the right hand side refers to 'singles' price. And price on the left is if you buy as a box, price on the right is if you buy 1 at a time? Thanks again.
