Popular Post Pvalue83 Posted January 15 Popular Post Posted January 15 OK this will be relatively brief because a) I have enjoyed reading some very fine reviews of this cigar (e.g. @Puros Y Vino and @JohnS) and I doubt I will add much to their excellent summaries) and b) I enjoyed this cigar outside, on a piss-cold Saturday night in New York so my 'notes' are limited to a handful of pictures I took throughout. Initial/pre-light: I bought a bundle of 25 in late December '23, and clearly I am far to greedy to wait the recommended 30 days before jumping in. C'est la vie. I am a sucker for these vitolas as they are so pleasing on the eye. I admit to picking the scraggiest looking one from my bundle of 25 to set fire to first, but upon close inspection, the wrapper is excellent and can't find any fault. Smoking: I am pretty terrible at detailed tasting notes but I get a lovely combination of wheat, a touch of wood, very creamy coffee and a savoury detail that is thoroughly enjoyable. Very minimal pepper (which I am completely fine with). Not overly leathery, just a really nice package of flavours which are, in my estimation, firmly in the medium strength spectrum. As to the nuances and progression of the cigar into 3rds I will defer to more experienced palates, but the flavours did expand a little as I shivered my way through 90 freezing minutes of enjoyment. Absolutely no burn issues for me, fantastic draw, ash was lovely. in summary, simply a delicious, smooth cigar that sits comfortably at that excellent intersection where you can devote all your attention to the various flavours and nuances (the cerebral), or just kick back and enjoy a beautifully constructed, tasty cigar. Well done everyone involved and I will enjoy making my way through the remaining 24, hopefully when the weather is a little more conducive to outdoor enjoyment with minimal risk of frostbite. 5
JohnS Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I can't believe it's been two years since these were released. My, how time flies! Thank you for a nice review!
