mbrody Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Petit robusto. Short, wide and robust. Along HdM Petit or Cohiba Media siglo. Little flavor bombs please…

IMO what makes an outstanding short panetela most remarkable is the huge flavor (and 3 thirds) from such a small delicate looking thing. Well-aged (15+ years on) Cohiba panetelas are a great example. 20-25 minutes of full on cascades of flavor. In addition to the Short Panetela, what would you think of a Británica? Very much looking forward to the many vitolas to come! Thank you. 2

Nocoins Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Another vote for the short Ninfas. There have been very few new world cigar deletions that have bothered me. But the deletion of one of my favorite short panatelas (from any country) still bothers me. A 38 RG short Ninfas would make it all better. I would say a bit fuller bodied. I like short cigars to pick up to their peak relatively quickly and then just stay there. 2
amberleaf Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 Minuto. Half coronas are just that little too short and don't quite satisfy for me 1

I know because we have already played around with them. Have also played around with a 38x 4.5. I voted DC mostly because that seems to round out the current lineup and is scarce from Cuba. But these sizes you mentioned I'd want to buy frequently. Cuba is tops in that part of the market, if only they could reliably supply all of them. Edit: I forgot about the Churchill... more justification for the smaller ones 👍
Dave O))) Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 After sampling and enjoying a couple of Ninfas (which I would classify as mild), I would say yes, a short panatela version should be bolder, medium/medium to full. I'll also echo that I would go for a minuto/perla over a half corona. RG perlas & Boli CJ were my go to short smokes back when I could afford them!
WuTwang Posted January 24, 2024 Posted January 24, 2024 Rob, I absolutely love JL2’s. If you love them as much as I do, which I’m sure you do, then you and Hamlet should recreate something similar to the JL2 in a laguito no 1, laguito no 2, small panatela, lonsdale or double corona format. A longer cigar is what this brand is missing.
Sir. smokes alot Posted January 24, 2024 Posted January 24, 2024 I will be honest. Every time I get the go ahead to spend some money on cigars I always buy more Cubans. I keep telling myself that I need to buy a cabinet of ninfas. A person on Reddit told me that they may be smoother than a Quai d'Orsay. I need to just bite the bullet and buy some. I need to find some good sticks that I can smoke on regularly. When I buy the expensive Cubans I don’t like smoking them day after day because they are so expensive and I want to let them sit as long as possible. I catch myself smoking the Padron 1000’s series while working around the house.
