What to expect in 2024.

Big year ahead. Let's say any thoughts of semi retirement have been thrown out the door  

 

Habanos

Much of the same. Greater width in line range will be available on 2424 (according to PCC), but stock levels will be patchy and remain some 50% below 2019 levels. That will still make us top 5% of retailers in the world today in relation to availability. 

I don't foresee our shopping carts for Habanos being up during 2024. We need to be back to near 2019/20 levels of stock to do so. 

Tabacuba has massive challenges as we all know. I still can't see the "trigger" that turns it around.  I think most of us have come to accept the current situation. Yes it sucks. 

Desnudo Nudies/MOFOH Program

Hamlet and I are thrilled with the response. We appear to be getting better and better. Those who have smoked the Ninfas, Robusto Trinity, Queen Corona and Churchill ( all released December 2023) will understand our trajectory. 

Our objective for the lines is to continually improve them where we can. We will take you along with us on the journey. 

The next three releases for these lines in 2024 will be the Fat Fundy, Piramide, Lonsdale. Given the success of the Ninfas we are entertaining a short panetela and a Half Corona. Perhaps a DC end of year. Some of these make no real financial sense........but we don't care. We are cigar lovers first and foremost..  Ideally, we will manufacture 750,000 cigars in 2024. 

Bond Roberts 

You may or may not be aware that I have taken 100% control of Bond Roberts in December 2023. Rob Fox has transitioned to join our advisory board of Directors with Ben Ayala moving to CEO and Alex Groom coming onboard as Chief Technology Officer and Specialist Advisor. I have to thank Andy Ryan for his tremendous contribution as our former CTO and advisor.  

BR commenced in April 2020 during the height of Covid 19. We had no idea it would become the monolith it is today. There are a host of plans in play to take it to the next level. 

The first Bond Roberts premium line of cigars (without a mega premium price) will be launched mid 2024 in Miami, Hong Kong and London. The Petit  BR 109 and BR 109 will be the first two cigars. These will be international releases (boxes/bands etal) with distributors in Europe, Asia and the USA. FOH will sell the limited number of 50 cabs in each line and Ravi of COH will look after Asia and parts of Europe, Foxy will look after the UK and at this time, Oscar Valladares will look after the USA. 

FOH

The soul of FOH will remain the same. When I started this 20 years ago I wanted a global, local, cigar pub feel no-matter where you were located in the world. I never want that to change. 

2024 will see some new mods,  more in-depth analysis, more reviews (including member video reviews), more Zoom masterclasses. 

 

It is going to be a good year

Hey folks - am a recent convert to the hobby, have been watching with interest from the sidelines for a while and just wanted to let you know that you have a wonderful community here (as an Australian who has been living in New York for the last 5 years this website is pretty perfectly pitched between the two!). A really cool atmosphere and the willingness to share knowledge and experience - from my perspective it is super appreciated 

Sounds like 2024 will be a busy one (I'm frothing to grab a few bundles of the ninfas and carlota's and including monitoring how my bundle of desnudo lancero N1's develop 😉) and a trip back to Sydney in March-April).
