El Presidente Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 The oldest cigarmaker in the Dominican Republic teamed up with watchmaker Jacob & Co https://www.cigaraficionado.com/article/la-aurora-and-jacob-co-release-watch-humidor-and-cigars 3
PuroDiario Posted January 7, 2024 Posted January 7, 2024 Do these things have an actual market away from family and friends? Even if Cohiba or Davidoff or Fuente, people buy them?

Most likely the Aurora guy is a fan of Jacob&Co’s (imho shitty) watches so commissioned 7 for f&f plus 3 to punt to fools and pay for the prod cost of the whole 120 anniversary collection and then some. J&C may have some nice looking movements but really a jewellery house and prime gemsetter. Love watches but can’t stand looking at Jacob pieces. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
BrightonCorgi Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 I wonder if any of the tooling used to stamp parts and bridges can be used on a different model? 1

They wouldn't make anything besides the embellishments unique. It looks similar to the Cristiano Ronaldo collab they did, using their Caliber JCAM45 movement. This is the Epic X in blue. 1
BrightonCorgi Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 Just a different dial & milling on the case is about it
dangarneau Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 US$48k. That could get you a box of Cohibas. 2
