Atabey Black Ritos

This was one of those NFT Cigars that sold in 2021 but were just delivered recently. My local store had a box and I grabbed one of the last few from their first shipment.

Cold Draw - Nothing noticeable which I thought was odd. Smelling the foot though was pure cedar aromas.

1st /3 - On the first puff I am reminded of a Bandolero also from Selected Tobacco, my personal favorite. This Atabey has a richness and wide flavor profile that gets to the sides of your mouth. It is the flavor of chocolate and hazelnut. When I retrohale its a deep cedar but so smooth, no harshness, that you want to retrohale on every puff.

2nd /3 - Cholate flavor drops away and is replaced by cedar to join the hazelnut. A bit of sourness to it all that is enjoyable.

3rd/3 - Final third is dried berries and a minerality, but still with the cedar from the six year aging process.

Summary: Selected Tobacco does great stuff, this cigar was coming out regardless but joined the NFT hype. The NFT proceeds went to Cigar Rights of America which seems like a solid way to do it, if you feel the need to drop a NFT. Anyway, it is a great cigar tied to a gimmick.
