True, but the great irony is that while most of the public scoffs at the pretentiousness and self-importance of a place like Harvard, they also treat its imprimatur with great reverence. If this study came out of Allegheny State it might have been posted, but I highly doubt the thread/article title would’ve included the school’s name. Same thing with degrees from there; even though most people recognize Harvard is - to quote Bill Maher - an “asshole factory”, they still are deeply impressed by the credential because it’s such a recognizable brand (and that’s all it is these days).
