Dropped:  Cohiba Robusto:

Love my CORO but i can't justify the pricepoint as a multi weekly smoke.

Added:      Desnudo Canonazo

It's not quite a Siglo VI but it hit's the spot consistently and at the right price point

Dropped:  All Hoyo de Monterrey.
I have had such bad luck with performance and flavor profile with these.  No matter the vitola. I know many love these so must be a compatibility issue with me. Just decided they aren’t worth my time after too many tries.

Added:  H Upmann Magnum 54

I used to smoke a lot of Punch but they became scarce.  The H Upmann Magnum 54 has been my go to and turned into one of my favorites!

Dropped: Nothing dropped. You can’t afford dropping any with the current supply situation in Europe. 😢 And Cohiba has never been in my ‘regular’ rotation anyway.

Added: Added a lot of budget smokes and Puritos to the mix to be able to continue (to justify to myself to continue 😅) buying what I always bought and liked.

In particular to be mentioned: Quintero Panetelas. This is so much more than just a stopgap cigar!

Dropped: Without really realizing it until now I think it's been 12+ months since I last had a Monte 2. So I guess that would have to be it.

Added: HU2. I've had some banger results with late 21s and 22s. Definitely replaced the previous one above

Not as much dropped - but adjusted CC consumption to perception of my ability to source a replacement at a reasonable cost - so lots of favorites are on ration but not quite dropped

Added - that’s easy from my 23 smoking diary - J-O B52 is a regular, followed by all sorts of other custom rolls that are in rotation more than the banded stuff. At least until some sanity returns.

Dropped: Trinidad Reyes. These were such great coffee cigars, but unfortunately I don’t see any reason to spend that kind of money for a coffee smoke. I have ~15 left for special coffee occasions and thats it.

Added: PLMC, probably the best value in Habanos lineup. Smoke great young, <$10 a cigar, and have nice smoke output for such a small ring gauge. I don’t know why, but I never smoked a PLMC until recent price hikes. I feel like I have missed out the last few years.

Dropped: Punch Punch / Short De Punch. Love the cigars but my inventory got low while they became hard to find this year. Very glad to see them popping up again so I can get them back in the rotation.

Added: 21 N1 Lancero Maduro. They keep getting better with more time down :)

RE: Punch Punch Last time I checked my non FOH source they were $20 a stick. Good grief.

Definitely wish I could get them for ~50% of current prices again, but still think the 2021 Punch Punch I've had hold their own at ~$20/stick.   Had an Arturo Fuente Rare Pink Signature recently, which is basically the same price.  It's also really good and not readily available.   I'd still take the Punch Punch over that.

What would you recommend over the Punch Punch at a similar price point?  Would love to give it go - even better if it's easier on the wallet :)

Since I’m back from a few year hiatus nothing dropped.

I’ve added everything I can get my hands on but notable absences from my humidor are

Cohiba and Trinidad  (minus 2 singles)

I actually like the red fruit I get from those little short fillers and were my go-to yard gar for a stint. For some reason, my wife can detect the smoke more than my long fillers and finds the smell horrendous for hours. I ended up giving them away to a co-worker

Dropped - its kind of sad - VR Famosos and SLR Regios.  Not really dropped as much as I've never had a good cigar from the 2 boxes of each that I bought.  So, they are relegated back to long-term storage and I have no interest in buying any more.  All 4 boxes are 2020 and hopefully, they'll surprise me in a few years.

Added - also, kind of sad - MOFOH Spada Gordas, Amante IV's, Warped La Hacienda and Cloud Hopper 53's, Tatuaje Black Labels, Rojas Street Tacos, Casdagli Daughters of the Wind.  All NC's and no new CC's expected to enter the rotation any time soon.

Dropped: Trinidad Reyes. Burned through 4 boxes 21-22. One left, no more on the horizon.

Added: R&J Cazadores. Never had them before. Put 2 years on them, just in case. Like rustic, full-flavored Churchills. I even like the size! 😀

I am right there with El Pres and Hrs1

Dropped:  Cohiba Robusto, getting low and for the value/ratio, many better options.

Added: 2021 N1 Lancero and HU MAG 54. The Nudies were good when I got them, but so much better now.

Going to restock my favorites from FOH in 2024. Looking forward to the FOH top 10 list.

replace the Montecristo Especial

I was going to reply to this suggestion. Call me a sceptic. Nudies are fantastic cigars but as good as a Monte Especial? I just don't see it. Bang for buck maybe....But the highest of highs??? I just don't see it. I would be interested to see what you conclude in your reviews John. One of the interesting factors on the value call. Is that despite it's excellence and rarity  Monte Especial still don't seem to command massively high prices in the secondary market.

The one Cuban that I had a few boxes of that I will never buy again is the BRC......utterly pointless blend. In the no mans land between a BBF and a Libertador. Found them to be paperly and lifeless.

Will use this cigar budget to buy either

RG CdeL or NCs

Of course, it goes without saying that I will be objective. I guess the Nudie option is okay if Montecristo Especials are hard to source. Otherwise, of course, there's a difference between the two.

Dropped:  RJ WC

Too bad in quality and weight differences

Added:      RG Coronas de Lonsdale

                   Surprisingly very good.

Added: Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Story. These are such a good, dependable Non-Cuban option.

Couldn't agree more John. I was close to putting this as my cigar I've added into my rotation as it is definitely my most smoked NC. I know I've said it before, but these sticks deliver for me time after time.

If only they made the RG Coronas de Lonsdale in 25 count boxes, great cigar ROTT

Haven't dropped anything much really as I have pretty deep stocks (for now), but am more mindful about smoking what I got. I may offload my Cohibas as the prices now may make me never want to smoke them, but instead "trade down" to my favs like the RyJ Churchill or PSD4

Added:

Smoking far more NCs when I don't have focus or sticking with puritos.
