Popular Post raggie Posted November 18, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 18, 2023 I’ve been trying to get into photography, especially portraits. As cigars are becoming an increasing staple hobby (and expense), I tried mixing the two. Here are a few pictures I’ve captured. I’m excited to delve further into this, pairing the two like a nice stick and drink. These are all raw off the camera, I haven’t found the time or energy to edit anything yet. I know they can be further transformed with a little edit… 18
Lamboinee Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 Lookin' good, I like the match lighting one the best. I wish I would spend the time to learn just a little about how to take some better photos. My pics are either a) straight down, see my shoes, oh look a cigar in the foreground, endless pavement below! or b) 60 minutes later still hasn't gotten the shot to look good despite moving cigar 90 different times, so I just jam an ashtray in the photograph and pray for the best. 1 2

Thanks! I'd agree, that one is my favorite too. Capturing a moment is a tricky skill to learn. These days anybody can just snap a picture, but being able to evoke a certain feeling or emotion with your composition is no easy feat. The best shots, in my experience, are the ones captured in the moment, with no preparation. A more candid scene if you will. Just keep playing around with your shots and try new, different things! You'll land something eventually and it will click.
