Popular Post MoeFOH Posted November 1, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 1, 2023 Where would we be without a sense of humour?... God bless 'em. Us Aussies shouldn't laugh I guess... our invite from the Kazakhstan Rugby Association is probably in the mail. 6
JohnS Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 The addition of Ben Stokes to their World Cup One-Day Cricket squad, after he had announced his retirement from the format, I'm sure upset the balance of things in their squad. Plus, I don't think they had the bowling required for the conditions. (I.e. Sure, Chris Woakes and Mark Wood worked out well in the Ashes this year in England, not so well in Indian conditions where the ball doesn't move so readily off-the-seam. Reece Topley, who is famously injury-prone lived true to form and got injured and Sam Curran spectacularly lost his form.) 1

I suspect you are right. I still think that if the Australians lose to England on Saturday, they will still qualify for the semi-final with games against Afghanistan and Bangladesh coming up.

PuroDiario Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 PIF (i.e. The Saudi Arabian government Public Investment Fund) is coming for the IPL now, PGA-type move in the making (i.e LIV golf) which has geopolitical angles as well. Media rights are already second to NFL only just by a couple $ mill per game.
